6. Knife (The Butcher Shop) I always love drawing narrative driven pieces like this and imagining the world the character lives in 😄 #chillinktober #inktober #illustration

The wooden shutters to the shop are swung open wide revealing a massive hunk of meat on top of a chopping board centred on the serving counter. The man is leaning over it with a keen expression. He has his knife stabbed into the board; he grips it firmly - as if he is ready to pull it out at any moment and slice the meat. Behind him, decorating the back wall of the shack are framed knifes of different shapes and sizes. There are also various jars containing specimens of rare monsters his customers have bought to him in the past. There is a board placed in front of the shop which reads ‘We can’t cut? You don’t pay’. As it suggests, the butcher shop will butcher anything: the weird, the dangerous, or just your chickens for dinner.

Did a fashion life drawing workshop today. I loved having a play with different media and combining them in unexpected ways. The PM session with inks was especially fun - it was so freeing to let the water and ink flow and do its own thing. (And I didn’t erase anything the entire day!!)

In my search of a leafy house plant that will survive my not-so-green-fingers and total lack of plant knowledge, I came across plenty of people who definitely knew what they were doing 🌱
