Claire wakes up every day and goes to a job where she's basically customer support but if she gets the answer wrong somebody dies. What a trooper.

The forest outside the barriers of Larimar's cities is simply called "the forest", since it is the only one. Here, corrupted creatures said to no longer have souls reign. Unfortunately, it's still necessary to harvest its resources for these cities to survive. That's where magical girls come in.

A magical forest with blue and green crystals growing on the bark of trees and stumps. Various mushrooms can be seen along the purply-blue path leading through the trees and into the distance. A slight fog hovers in the air, obscuring vision even further.

The generic background where battles take place. The stars and clouds in the back were additions by the background artist the really brings the whole thing together.

A slab of rock hovers in the sky, surrounded by swirling clouds. A sea of stars on a deep navy sky hover above the scene.

The Bodkin Ruins were once said to be home to a king and queen of the ancient human tribes. In reality, this group of towers was once the corporate office space of Bodkin Technologies, a specialist in electronics, which in today's world have been outmoded.

Three tall buildings with many, many rows of glass windows down their sides. A shiny aquamarine path connects them, with various spots for decorative trees to compliment the space. Now in its abandoned state, fog rolls across the ground, obscuring some of the buildings in the distance.

In contrast its various destinations, the Tourmaline Express is kept very cozy looking. It's a reminder of the safe environment their clientele have returned to after a long day fighting monsters. The seats are purposefully kept low so humans and small animal familiars alike can sit on them.

A cozy pink and green train, with floor cushions, hand rails, and hanging straps all in a heart shape. There are two sets of doors on either side of the car.

Being one of the biggest cities in Eidar, Larimar also has one of the biggest train stations. This particular track is where the Tourmaline Express comes in, a rail that takes magical girls to locations outside the barrier where they perform their duties.

A train station at twilight, the pink and orange sky visible through the station's many large, arced windows. Two pairs of train tracks go off into the distance, with green signs in a foreign language hanging at points along them. In the corner is a sigil for the Wyvern Guild, the guild that runs the train for magical girls called the Tourmaline Express.

The guild's main headquarters is a three bedroom apartment redone to act as both an office and a home. Shingo's room is off to the right while the stairs lead to two more bedrooms on the second floor. If you look closely at the books, you'll see some shoutouts to people who have helped us.

A very purple apartment space. A sliding glass door leads out to a balcony in the back, next to it are bookshelves and hanging picture frames. One of the shelves has a book on it that says TVGS. In the foreground of the room is a soft, purple chair and a very round purple couch. To the right of the room is another bookshelf and stairs that wind their way up to the second floor.

In contrast to Kaida and Gigi's room, Shingo's room is a bit darker. It's very well organized and utilitarian, housing primarily medical supplies and candy. His room is on the first floor, which gives him better accessibility after a leg injury took him out of the field.

A blue room with a little light filtering in from outside. There's a standing lamp on the left side next to a desk and chair. There is a calendar above the desk, and to its left a bulletin board with sticky notes. There are shelves above the calendar with various jars of candy and first aid supplies. Nex to the chair is a bed with one pillow and one blanket.

Kaida and Gigi's room is pink and inviting. It faces the sun's direction in the floor plan, which helps make it brighter too. The two of the jury rigged Gigi's basket bed to the wall themselves, something they're both very proud of.

A very pink bedroom with lots of light spilling in from the window in the back. To the left is a brown door, next to which is an equally pink and purple bed. Above the bed is a basket mounted to the wall, which has a white pillow and purple blanket inside. There's also a yellow hanging light in the middle of the room. To the right of the room is a closet/shelving unit, with several boxes, a stuffed animal, and a pair of rain boots.

Can I offer you a plucky train conductor in these trying times?

An anime girl in a top hat winks at the camera, the text next to her says "Whatever you’re facing today, you can do it. No matter what, never stop believing in yourself."

There are currently two reviews of last year's demo and one of them says "I want Eledona to step on me." I think about that a lot...

A picture of a purple cartoon spider monster is in the middle of the screen, with pictures of her two human victims wrapped in web on either side of her. The monster is saying "Hardly what I'd consider a meal, but it's been so long since my children have eaten flesh."

Happy Pi Day! Here's a drawing from our first guest artist, Pen! You can follow them on Instagram here: www.instagram.com/penny.on.heads

Two characters stand in a traditional kitchen, the girl on the left jumps for joy with her hands in the air while the girl on the right grins broadly. Above them floats a pie with the pi symbol carved into it.

What does Brie put in the poison treat, wrong answers only.

An RPG battle screen where the player has the move "Poison Treat" selected. The description is "A sickly treat that poisons the target and does more damage if they're already poisoned."

It's national puzzle day! Going to be playing quite a bit of Monkey Island to celebrate.

A visual novel screenshot. The two characters stand in a grocery store, a choice menu is displayed above them. The two available choices are "Go when Kotori is most powerful" and "Go when Brie is most powerful"

In The Songbird Guild, decisions affect the way you explore dungeons and the battles you have in there. The dungeons and battles in turn can determine your choices!

Characters are put together out of multiple pieces, which can combine together to make far more expressions than we'd ever be able to draw on our own. Here are all the pieces that make up one of Claire's poses, as well as the final product at the end! #indiedev #gamedev

The body layer. Claire's body outline as well as the blush on her cheeks and her golden hair set the foundation in this layer.

The clothing layer. This one shows a brown top hat with gold trim, a sparkly golden and light yellow suit, a brown bowtie, a brown skirt, and brown gloves all together. There's a unique clothing pose for each body pose so that they clothing can move with the characters.

The layers for the eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. In this case, we have winking eyes, normal eyebrows cut out to fit the gaps in Claire's hair, and a mouth with the tongue sticking out slightly. Typically, a character will have 4 or 5 eye expressions, 4 or 5 mouth expressions, and 3 or so brow expressions typically including raised brows, normal brows, and furrowed brows.

All the pieces put together! Claire is winking at the player while sticking her tongue out and pointing when all is said and done.

Wishing you all a Happy Holidays, whatever you celebrate, and a Happy New Year in less than a week!

Shingo is outside in the snow, wearing a purple cap, a brown fluffy jacket, and a pink scarf. He's making a snowman that looks like Ai, with her glasses and snowy pigtails to match her hairstyle. She's wearing her own purple scarf. Gigi the dragon is sitting on top of the Ai snowman's head with little blue earmuffs of her own. She's grinning widely with her eyes closed.

When you need to program the fence functionality but you don't have a completed fence art asset yet 👀

A lush, detailed forest background. There's a black square in the middle that says "Fence" in sloppy handwriting, creating a funny contrast between the two.
