picking at straws to accuse upset fans for "tunnel vision" because of stuff like 1) เไ usage is a common requirement (which should be criticized too) 2) that เไ/3d concepts for booth sets have been a thing for a long time 2.5) Why are they treating 3d and เไ like its the same thing???

000

rant account now Lol its just really frustrating the games i loved is being treated like this and some of the biggest people in the fandom passionate about sharing info is defending their betrayal in a weird way

000

also i just wanna put this here since i saw this pattern of fans on twt but some of these L-5 fans trying so hard to find excuses for this corporate game studio has honestly been upsetting as hell. trying to be "neutral" or whatever

fr they really need to go bankrupt again like. theres so many things wrong with his statement about to what degree AI is used because everytime he claims it wont be in the final product its always been a lie :/ and also having to correct AI generated assets and code is probably why theres delays.

no i really do understand...it feels like level-5 higher ups are really stomping on their audience that Actually loves their games for no reason :( did u see hino's response today? i'm really not happy with how the higher-ups in there have been treating their critics it leaves a really bad taste

jopey🍎 @yuppiedevil.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

like at the very least the prequel duology (not counting last spectre) innovated on the 3D visuals by implementing parallax with the 2D backgrounds with certain props being 3D but still keeping that style. Now its just 3d and ooo some of its probably genAI🤣 so innovative. Get me out

frog dude i am so freaking sorry its seriously rough out here. i've been keeping track of level-5 since they announced nwos so i was aware of the ceo's AI bullshit but seeing that presentation even with knowing his pro-ai stance is heartbreaking :( 🫂

at the end of the day if people play the new layton they play new layton but i really dont want any part of it i hope that company goes bankrupt again they dont deserve all the amazing IPs they have anymore. seriously. where's nagano (character designer for all their IPs) anyway

000

inactive for months just to come back and rant about new layton 😭sorry i really needed this off my chest

000

their demos at previous TGS events had shown that there was an option to switch voice language as a separate setting to the game language, and english was an option but theres no recording of it.. idk. idk. seriously a huge bummer i'm really upset

100

i'm also concerned that they still havent revealed the english casting for the dub even though they had the seiyuus voicing layton and luke since the first announcement. and they announced the casting again for the curious village remake. like genuinely where's the english cast?

the studio's unapologetic use of genAI is the elephant of the room here but i really dislike them pivoting fully to 3D when layton's art direction is at its best when its 2D. idk. new layton's really lost its laytonesque i'm really disappointed

WHA anime has been really really good... i love how my attention is put into animating things that would have otherwise been neglected, like wearing/removing shoes, sitting down, drawing, etc!!!! really refreshing show to watch
