Exactly! Of course Mari is sad that Lara is leaving, even if not far, because they love each other and grew used to being together all the time But imo that's exactly why this is good and healthy for them! Lara wants to finally experience humanhood, and she knows Mari will be waiting for her ♥️

Ok that's all ! Sorry it actually ended up being long LMAO it may be messy too aaaa sorry I wrote this last night on twitter but was thinking hey I may as well post it here too... laramari canon you mean the world to me 🐟🥊♥️

I think Goodbye Lara relies sooo much on subtext, on viewer picking up things from understanding what's happening and being said on the screen I'll admit I too was confused and a bit upset after watching the ep. Took me a moment to sit down and think it over to end with this thread haha

TLDR. I think the series would've been way better with more episodes, but I think they did well with what they had! A more explicit no-room-for-denial laramari confirmation would've been lovely, but to me it's still very clear, denying it is ridiculous Really hope we see more of them ♥️

To me that's confirmation that she's coming back, that they won't be separated forever. (she isn't even moving that far ahaha) I think it's not crazy that we will get future illustrations or smth like an MV (you guys know my dear Cosmic Princess Kaguya...?) that shows them reunited ♡

And while she loves Mari, I think it's so normal and healthy for her to want to actually see the (surface) world she longed to see from the start! They're both young, they have so much to live and learn. Lara doesn't need to rush love anymore She literally tells Mari she meant the "living with her"

Ok I did ramble. Back to it YEAH many things of the anime are rushed and the finale is too, imo The six month timeskip left everyone confused, and felt weird because we're missing... well, 6 months of context hahaha So MY take is that... Lara is finally free to LIVE her own life

forgotten/skipped/not properly developed But I'm hoping that the manga (little faith on the LN lol 🥶) will get to cover some things that we didn't see! I don't think it's crazy to hope we may get more content... OVA maybe??

her by giving her a reason to go on. It's Mari she saves by loving her. If anyone denies it they're delusional and need to improve their literacy skills idk I think Goodbye Lara would've benefited so much from a longer format. 12 ep is too short for this story, so many things ended up

Ari ✨ @yumenari.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

So okay, I will accept the excuse bc it's fairly reasonable NEXT I think she's only rejecting *THAT* "true love" everyone was pushing into her.. It is stated So Explicitly that Mari is her true love. It's Mari she thinks of when asked, it's Mari that gets stabbed by the dagger, it's Mari that saves

A kiss would've been nice, like genuinely I would pay sm for a laramari kiss I'm Serious. But I guess I get that the whole point is breaking the pattern Rigmor abandoned her dream with her sister to be with Rowan, bring back the light and save everyone. And it was a kiss sealing that fate

Ari ✨ @yumenari.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Over and over, by her whole family, to the point of making her break down multiple times over it! So personally... I don't hate Lara deciding she doesn't need *THAT* "true love", that she's going to be the only one deciding her future and what she does

110

Ari ✨ @yumenari.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

I'll start by saying... I didn't expect a kiss. I think it WOULD'VE been nice, mostly because people may keep denying mari is indeed her true love (which she is, btw. Explicitly stated Okay.) But I also think that, from the start, Lara has been pressured to find "true love" -> kiss -> save everyone
