In May of next year, Flagler College students and I will revisit Troy, as well as Albany and Buffalo, to conduct interviews with descendants of migrants from regions of the Ottoman Empire that constitute modern Turkey.

We have a name for compilers of such lists in Greek, “dosilogoi.” Anyone who resisted the Nazi occupation was given up by traitors to the Nazis. These people would be led by the occupiers in black masks to pick the revolutionaries out of a line up. Those chosen would be executed by firing squad.
