I used to believe wholeheartedly in DeviantART. Today I go on there for the first time in a few years and two of the featured pieces are stolen? Not to mention the AI debacle.

I made this painting last year and I somehow really like it, especially how the mountains turned out! I was still struggling a bit back then, learning how to paint traditionally (well I'm obviously still learning! ;D) Available for purchase here: www.lorenala-art.com/shop #traditionalart

New painting! 💖✨ "The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” — W. B. Yeats

A dreamy digital painting of a woman surrounded by oversized pink and coral tulips, set against a deep blue, star-speckled background. She looks upward with a calm, contemplative expression as the flowers curve around her, creating a surreal, magical atmosphere.

I haven't posted this one much since I painted it. I wanted to capture the feeling of the summer that this was painted in - here it was cool and rainy and I remember the hydrangeas were so full and alive. I wanted to try to recreate it so I could hold it forever.

NEW ART ALERT! 🌸 I really enjoyed painting this one, I hope you enjoy it too!

A luminous figure of a woman with flowing pale blue hair nestled in shadowy leaves and blooming pink peonies, eyes closed as if dreaming. Pale ribbons drift around them, creating a soft, romantic, otherworldly mood.

Saw this and wanted to comment. I think it's a really interesting conversation to have and would be very interested in all your opinions (although I'm not going to engage in any arguments with anybody) Mildly altered screenshot to show my whole comment as the bottom cut off.

Screenshot of an Instagram post by artist @dandossantos_art. The post shows a woman in a bikini sitting on a studio stool in front of one of her paintings, with cameras, lights and art supplies visible around her. White text over the image reads, "I felt like there was something wrong with me." On the right is a long comment discussing how social media algorithms reward images of artists over their artwork, arguing that criticism should be directed at the platform rather than artists, particularly women, and raising concerns about how female artists are judged for appearing alongside their work.

Tracing is also really standard. Especially to get structure down. Especially if its your own reference. I know so many professionals who trace to get the work done.

Another painting I did a while back, this one is about the multiple masks we wear for different people and situations and how it's hard to know your true self - at least it is for me sometimes

A dreamy, painterly portrait of an androgynous figure surrounded by pale masks nestled among purple leaves. The figure, softly lit in cool blue and violet tones, holds one smooth, expressionless mask close to his face, partially obscuring his features. Hi eyes are downcast, giving an introspective mood. Flowing fabric drapes loosely from his shoulders, revealing the collarbone and chest. The surrounding masks vary slightly in angle and lighting, creating a sense of multiplicity and hidden identities. The overall palette is dominated by soft purples, blues, and muted pinks, with a calm, melancholic atmosphere.
