Alastor wouldn't know "directly" either—even though some might think he's smart enough to see through it, but one tends to wonder why a person is acting strangely, rather than thinking: "That's someone else."

The "hurt" Vox is also deeply corrupted; his feelings for Alastor are tainted. But the Vox who was never hurt was so respectful, seeking closeness out of affection, not a desire to dominate. that makes the story feel all the more tragic 😭

Oh, that’s good too!! Both have their merits. With my comic, the idea was more about the deep pit of despair Alastor falls into when he realizes his Vox is ‘gone forever’—even though, strictly speaking, the other Vox is the same person.

For me, there are only 2 types of pairs: ones I like/love, and ones that just aren’t my cup of tea. I’ve always felt like hating a pair is such a personal thing, and that, more often than not, people only hate pairs that involve a character they’d rather see with someone else.

I cried yesterday, even though it was a good merch drop, simply bc RS antis wanted to interpret the frustration in bad faith. that’s exactly what gets me down, not the show, ships, but just people who want to dictate the "correct" interpretation, when in reality, every pairing matters — to someone!

Maybe Vox/Al will get "Old Pals" too, since Al shares the same song title with both of them. But from a marketing perspective, it makes sense to show only Rosie, to tease the fans but also to stoke hopes; otherwise, I’d be frustrated :/
