Alternative option: universal healthcare for all.

I agree. We should be patient and welcoming and enjoy educating others about our culture and language and everything else. Too bad our heartless, capitalistic world wants immediate profit and results rather than the construction of a kind and compassionate, international society.

If the Roman Senate and emperors were anything like this, it’s no wonder why Rome collapsed.

The dominoes continue to fall, and our healthcare system and society continue to collapse because our political-economic overlords continue to prioritize short-term pleasure and profit over the general welfare of all. And it sickens and disgusts me that so many of us just allow it to happen.

And unions = organized workers. Workers power the economy. Workers build the wealth and stability that make the foundation of the middle class. Workers fight for fairness. And workers ultimately create the wealth and material conditions for the reproduction of society and allow for a better future.

Huh, almost like things are disproportionately geared towards capital as opposed to labour. I wonder why nobody noticed this before and tried to warn us…

Somehow the radical party of Lincoln and abolition became the party of the KKK in a suit and tie.

The joys of living under an exploitative socioeconomic system. Eventually you realize the game is rigged; but the trick is getting the multitude of other players to join you in flipping over the board and creating something where we all win, not simply the owners of the game’s IP.

One of the rare country stars who managed to touch my heart in a genuine way, and who managed to remain kind and humble in an often unkind and materialistic world. I know that her memory will be a blessing for many for a long, long time.

Mourning the loss of Dolly Parton with an imperial stout from Breakside Brewing, wishing more people with her level of fame and money did as many good deeds as she did, often quietly and without fanfare. She wasn’t perfect, but she definitely seems like she was a good person, and I like her music.

Me, drinking a Carl Con Carne imperial stout from Breakside Brewing, wearing a pink Dolly Parton tee shirt, and being sad.

000

גזבּשׁ @yroffeiriad.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

To change that, we have to figure out a way to organize opposition to their control and influence by asserting our greater numbers and workers, consumers, constituents, and just human beings trying to survive, let alone thrive in this world. Things could be infinitely more equitable than they are.

Almost everything is in our lives is political in that it’s directly connected to, or affected by, politics. I consciously ignored it for half of my life because I didn’t understand that. And much of it is controlled by the whims of capitalism and those in control of, or subservient to, capital.

The new Masters of the Universe movie is so damn good. It references the toys, cartoon, and live action movie made in the late 80’s faithfully without taking itself too seriously. I think OG fans will love it. I know I did. I hope they do the same for She-Ra, which gets teased at the end. 9/10

I also love how Hasan Piker is now somehow becoming relevant in politics after a decade of talking shit on YouTube because Dems really failed to capture podcast listeners and he’s one of the new lefty voices people are listening to. I never would have dreamed. lol

He’ll likely have trouble winning a lot of Black and Jewish voters, but I hope progressive candidates like him stay the course and do their best to win with their progressive platforms like Mamdani even if it’s an uphill battle.

110

גזבּשׁ @yroffeiriad.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

Kinda seems like it. Basically what he ran on in primary won’t work in the general so he needs to moderate some of his positions and move to the center, which is typically what many Dems do in primaries. He’s just one of the few really has progressive positions, so I hope he sticks to them.

Except it can’t because it happened and the actions have repercussions that we can’t ignore. We can attempt to mitigate them, but we can’t completely erase them or ignore the conditions that gave rise to his presidency without leaving them to reproduce something like it.

Our actions are like ripples in the quantum field that reverberate throughout it, interacting with other ripples. And our intentions affect the nature of those ripples, the ways they interact, & the results of those interactions—i.e., the future. The depth of life & reality itself are staggering.

גזבּשׁ @yroffeiriad.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

It’s one of the reasons I’m interested in things like the Buddhist teaching of dependent co-arising, Spinoza, Jewish theology, & panentheism—an essential point of all is that all things are deeply interconnected (and arguably one), & our actions have consequences whether or not they’re conditioned.

100

גזבּשׁ @yroffeiriad.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

And a large moral of the story is that our world will never look like the paradise we imagine it could be if we don’t figure out a way to create an equitable socioeconomic system & find a way to bridge our divisions.

We continue to let virtually unaccountable & unlimitedly powerful CEOs & governments do what they will at our peril, often utilizing new technologies to capture market shares from economic competitors & gain a military advantage over national ones.
