My main issue with Daemons of the Shadow Realm is that I feel they are delivering the same information four times without giving me a reason to be worried about. The parents disappeared, the bad guys want the twins to “control the world” whatever that means. And the Tsugai are just glorified pokemon

The happy ending is not possible because is not the end of her journey, and she has to learn, to consider, to become independent of Mari or her family or anyone. When nobody pushes a destiny and chooses, then love will come to her life. And she loves Mari, no doubt, but has to love herself too.

She doesn’t have a dream, her family basically left her and is trying to push a destiny on her, the witch gave her an impossible choice, and she had only a month to learn to be human. Thats not enough, and she chose the pain of walking, to learn to love properly before making a choice.

Love is not possible unless you experience life. “True love”, is a myth, is a fantasy, an idealistic belief. Is complicated, requires responsibility, requires self knowledge, requires growing up. Lara is literally a “born yesterday” character, and she falling for Mari is fine, but is unbalanced.
