The thing i hate the most about x is monetisation, people post to make money and are thus biased to post in the way the algo wants them to post; its not their real thoughts. I just wish there were more people using bsky

I noticed that too, but it doesnt always have to be academics. Its basically everyone who read docs/ informational content and learn regularly. They generally skim info to find the most important piece of info they need

Its fine. I use it currently cuz im too lazy to move to bitwarden and set up vaultwarden. I haven't had much on an issue using it. I know the brand feels a bit shady, and its why i use only ProtonMail and pass. I would still recommend you test it out, that and bitwarden

Instead of blocking bots completely, i think there should be a completely different internet just for agents to gather info and communicate together, and trade knowledge, and they should not be allowed in the human internet

Bitwarden is great. For general use , you can also use proton pass. There is also a local bitwarden server that you can spin up( forgot the name) to sync up the passwords, 100% free and self hosted

You can use ai to make boilerplate code and things that speed the process up, as long as its assisting you instead of replacing everything that you do, and still write most of the code yourself its fine to use ai

Is Niri as reliable as Gnome for work related stuff? I have been thinking of switching, but i remember when i switched to sway there were a lot of issues, like i couldnt screen record for instance. The reason i use Gnome is because of this reliability...

Well mostly for networking. I might find another person i might connect with, and these people consists mostly of founders etc, and there is a lot of them on x. Thats why the audience size matters, cuz there would be simply more of them

X's audience is very large and influential. If bsky had the same audience then i would definitely stop using x.

Yeah its fixed now, i had to ask AI to help me figure out the issue, but tbf i already knew what it was, i just forgot the full wayland support thing. Also I like wayland a lot, it seems way better now than it was in the past. I had x11 gnome because of an issue with video calls, but it seems fixed

I just updated to fedora 44. I forgot that it no longer supports x11, but i had GNOME x11 and Classic installed. So when i updated it, there were a lot of conflicts and I could not get on my DE 😭. But it wasnt a big issue, all i had to do was disable the copr repos, and remove the old x11 stuff.

It has always been like this, there is a lot of hype around new tech and then it dies down. When something revolutionary happens, there never is a need to be hyped in the first place, at least not for long (like AI hype has been too long and forced)

You can always self host the models. In the same way their are still good search engines( DDG, brave search etc) there will still be good ai. Just the mainstream ones are gonna be bad

To be fair, isnt that what other platforms do too? Technically public data that you post will be public. And the thing is with other social media sites, they do this AND they sell it to advertisers.

Nvidia is in favour of open source, and i kinda trust them. They are, at least right now, one of the least evil ai companies that i see. Still, it would be interesting to see how the acq goes
