We asked in 1938, can the state stop lynch mobs from lynching. In 2026, the question needs to be asked again. Can the state stop lynch mobs from killing American citizens?

Magazine article from 1938 which poses the question: "Can the States Stop Lynching?" Most print is too small to read, however there is a box that shows the stats for lynching by state with the total being 8, and a break down of the states where they happened.

America: Met Gala Also America: Suzanne Collins must have used Dubai as inspiration for the Capitol in the Hunger Games as its example of out of touch people celebrating their obscene wealth while children are being murdered.

Not sure how to even describe this (sorry), it's a Met Gala dress, with reporters in the back, and staris on the right. Giant headpiece with arrows pointing out of it.

Weak candidates breed strong candidates that will take away the rights a weak candidate will not uphold. ✌️

Between the legs of an elephant are the words, “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor"

Holocaust survivor Elie Wisel answered that question a long time ago. Doing nothing is the same as voting for the opposition. Doing nothing emboldens the opposition to stay in power.

Quote by Eli Wisel, “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.”

Paint & Prose update: I will be (ideally) be finishing up my first Lego & Literature video this week, and have been reading N.K. Jemisin's Hundred Thousands Kingdom. I've never struggled so hard with a book before. It's a wonderful book, but I have read and re-read so many pages, it's daunting.

One of the biggest unsung heroes of the Civil Rights Movement: children. Children were brought into the movement because leadership rightly guessed that while the average white citizen wouldn't bat their eye about black people being killed on TV, it's harder to look away from a child.

Did you know the United States government has a track record of bombing it's own citizens? In 1921, the United States bombed Black Wall Street also known as Tulsa, Oklahoma, and in 1985 it bombed a neighborhood in Philadelphia, then watched as it burned to the ground. #ThisIsOURHistory

Rereading my Master thesis and favorite line I've ever written? "Harry Potter was a Black woman."

“Harry stood up for the ignored and abused, he was gaslit constantly by the government and those in power, and that kick in the gut Harry felt when he found out Dumbledore wasn’t really looking out for him but was simply grooming him to be slaughtered at the right time? Is that not the way Black women felt when they woke up on November 9th to find out that instead of white women standing in solidarity with women of color, they chose white supremacy over feminism and voted Donald Trump into office?”

Image of words that says: When an unexpected love affair sweeps you off your feet, sometimes the only thing you can do is fall. Lauren Hallowell lives a life with an expectation of excellence. Unfortunately for her, when she wrote K.I.T. on her classmate, Trish’s yearbook, Trish took it to heart. A Thanksgiving invite turns into a lifelong friendship that sparks a love affair between Lauren and Trish’s friend and roommate, Serena. But with their personalities so at odds with each other, they’re just as likely to fall in love as they are to fall apart.
