After backlash, Abbott got Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to “pause” construction and land clearing while leadership conducts local evaluations. Federal assurance: no physical wall/fence plans. If Abbott wins in November, don’t be surprised if evaluation concludes a wall/fence is necessary.
