@patstaresat.bsky.social Belmont’s Curse level progression is very similar to Order of Eccesia with Dracula’s Castle coming in mid game but it is done significantly more better by a wide margin.

I want make a more detailed post on Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse after I finish the game but to put it short it’s good. I enjoyed this in orders of magnitude than most of the handleheld games. I think someone said it best but this is like the Metroid Dread of Castlevania for good or for ill to some.

I REALLY don’t know how I feel about the no contact damage, it’s strange to get used to and I wonder how they handle obstacles throughout the levels past the demo. Speaking about the demo….it’s a bit short, I know it’s a demo but I don’t feel like we got a good feel of it Outside of that…solid stuff

Played the Castlevania Belmont’s Curse demo. It’s solid for the first 30 minutes of the game, looks great. The story setup is a bit ehh as of right now but most CV stories are all like that. Rose feels a bit heavy, she’s responsive but jumps isn’t as fast as previous games.

I think Monster Hunter Ascendance has done the unthinkable, I love the idea of Sky islands. It’s very easy to sell me on it as a new place to explore but just like Tears of the Kingdom, Capcom has somehow made that idea look extremely bland.

Like I thought in RE7 we’d moved past this boring cast and maybe do an anthology thing but everytime when these characters show or do umbrella crap, the games immediately falls apart. Like DMC stories and characters are fairly simple they are vastly more interesting and worth staying any in RE.

The live rotting of Polygon is definitely a sight to see. Saving grace is that Polygons reach is ass at this point so this shouldn’t effect the game that much. It’s still awful. That being said, I do feel there hasn’t really been the game that just took over the conversation like previous years.

A mix like something like older Pokemon would’ve been a better choice (improved of course). The Mini map warning you of RIs is a great add. With that all being said, I walked away from the demo feeling lukewarm on the game. There’s potential here but Brave Exvius isn’t the best foundation for it.

I am surprised they keep the random encounters, I don’t hate it and they seem to pace them out well enough to not be too bad. I was always negative on the removal of RIs from modern RPGs especially in the overworld. It gave the feeling you’re journeying through out the world fighting along the way.

This can be said for almost everything from the dialogue to the character designs, which I not very fond of. Music is good even if it’s a bit generic and the game can look great at times. The mix media approach for the cutscenes are jarring, I might get used to but idk.

Speak of the world, the story and the world, based off the first chapter is incredibly uninspired, so much so that I legitimately figured out the antagonist’s identity immediately by Ch 1. The characters are fairly straightforward and I don’t really expect that to change much.
