I guess we see where some of that equity liquidity is rotating into.

Crazy. Though generational wealth has been cashed out via equity anyway.

Not to dampen the mood, but if yesterday had any signal, it seems there was still a lot of liquidity just rotating, not an exit. Also looking at SPY for example on weekly basis, we barely moved.

Can't wait for Bessent to say the head of the IMF needs an economic course. Anyway, personally I'm not that bothered by Debt/GDP itself if I was convinced the debt is part of a real big credible growth plan. Not debt itself being the growth. Some say that's AI and tariffs, but I'm not convinced.

US emergency discount window rising to 10B. FYI During the last big liquidity issue from 2022, it shoot up to 150B give or take. So small potatoes. The discount window is however still perceived as a warning compared to regular repo, interbank lending, …

Semiconductors getting "hammered" might be too strong formulated. But it's not small potatoes in the pre-market either.

Some financial institution is tapping the discount window emergency lending. Now zoom out, 10B is peanuts and these things are rarely a sign of stress at these levels but when it rises it doesn’t hurt to keep an eye on it! FRED data combined in a dashboard in my free metropolis app. @blackpebble.io

CapEx does create returns but with a lag. So there is a J-curve making things look horrible before those earnings come in. So a CapEx cycle exploding your multiples or crushing free cash flow isn’t necessarily a bad thing. HOWEVER, size, depreciation, ROIC, competition, operating cost MATTER.

Yolonomics @yolonomics.life · 10/10/2026
Not comforting to say the least. The CapEx math does not add up.

Investor appetite is not without limits on risky IP-Free capital intensive infrastructure. That's a no for Blackstone, Coatue & Jane Street to cash out through a public listing. Back to more private markets. Off you go.

The average net pension was €1,692 a month in 2023, about 59% of the average net earnings of people working. The protests or riots as everyone so desperately wants to call them aren't really about austerity, more about the state of buildings, lack of teachers. Questioning the spending priorities.

AAII (American Association of Individual Investors) Survey. This is odd to me since the rise of warnings on bubbles, CapEx spending, leverage, … are just getting stronger. Then again, there's a lot of things I never understood.

Winter's coming. It doesn't look great, but also not that bad? 😬 2021 was also low before winter, but now Europe lacks the pipeline buffer. So there's "zero" margin for error. Shipping and price are the big questions if we compete with Asia who gets the worst cards. (FX & Shipping Cost).
