(+)way from what I usually work with. A way drenched in a heavy coat of “maturity” paint. The biggest oddity though is keeping her energy off the table. It’ll probably take some effort to execute it better, so please forgive me if she doesn’t read Modern Amy enough for awhile 🙏

(+)I just so happened to hear the theme for Aquatic Base Act 1 from Sonic 06 and something just clicked. As such, this has turned into a bit of a creepy chapter with Amy put seriously on edge. It's admittedly weird writing Amy instead of Rosy as she's so far removed from her character concept(+)

It's flawed, but since it drowned me in nostalgia the first time I ever watched it (sometime around Generations release I believe) I have quite the soft spot for it. It's classic Naka-san Sonic at his finest.

Lycanhog would make more sense if people were familiar enough with lycan- to swap it with wolf. As is, I think the common etymological fallacy is thinking that “were” = transformed rather than “man”.

Time to share useless information. The “were” in werewolf is from a word of Old English origin meaning “man/person”. Similarly, the word lycanthrope, usually used to refer to all manner of were-beasts, derives from an Ancient Greek word that just means wolf man. So, why share this on a Sonic the(+)

I don’t do Sonic the Hedgehog character rants like I used to, but I did do a Metal Sonic one recently. For context, this is a response to someone who’s been trying to change my preference for base Metal over Neo for some time. Anyway, check the alt text for easier reading and share your thoughts.

You pretty much just covered it yourself. Neo as a form rather than a character is pretty useless. Without achieving his own super form he’s just base form Cell. Dangerous enough, but he’s just a caterpillar eating away until he can achieve his true form as Metal Overlord. So, I actually see him as lesser than base Metal against Sonic before he gets Sonic’s data. I feel IDW covered it well.

As I said before, Neo to me is a glitched fail-state where *something* that isn’t “Sonic” gives up and overrides Metal. I blame v.KAI since it doesn’t follow normal Sonic activity expectations and is primed for transformations, something v.1 isn’t, nor is the Sonic 4 and subsequent versions.

I guess the shortest way I can sum it up is that despite SEGA declaring that there is only one Metal Sonic, I feel the evidence disagrees.

• v.1 in CD and CD storylines clearly is simply Sonic, but Eggman’s version.

The difference between the v.1 and v.KAI
Als are rather sizable, and that is not surprising all things considered. v.1 is not designed for transformation capable architecture and hardware. Instead, it's designed to grow by becoming more and more efficient by constantly overriding its limits and surpassing them despite self destructing in the process. A Sonic Channel calendar story covering a race from Metal's POV demonstrates this well and tells us that generaly the presented Metal Sonic in most instances is running on v.1 architecture. However, despite seeming to be v.1 hardware, the Al will occasionally have a change in personality, becoming something that relies on altering its architecture and hardware. If we were talking in psychology I'd call this change a difference in which alter is in control of the
