Reposted by Yewnyxhermanos. @iamdavidbrothers.com · 09/04/2025my most player-hating video game opinion is that cut content isn't full of secret mysteries and people are killing the conversation by insisting that data-mining is a good way to approach a narrative. when you're baking a cake, licking the batter off the spoon is a real pleasure, but it ain't cake. 71641433
Reposted by Yewnyxhermanos. @iamdavidbrothers.com · 09/04/2025every single patch and DLC getting instantly data-mined and debated is sooooo tedious. arguing over some microsoft excel file instead of the beautiful game right in front of us. it kills the mystique when you know someone's gonna figure everything out from the demo/beta onward. 233023
Reposted by Yewnyxhermanos. @iamdavidbrothers.com · 09/04/2025if video games are gonna be art, then you gotta let sketchbooks be sketchbooks, so to speak. the work is the work, and the cuttings are sometimes very interesting but not the work. the data-mining thing feels like pretension to authority. I see why an air of objectivity appeals, but it's not real 635457
Yewnyx @yewnyx.bsky.social · 20/03/2025Friend of a friend (but not a friend) melting down. Yep, straight into misogyny, responsibility evasion, dependence on intimacy, and high splash damage anger. In public, instead of in private where they can work on repairing and rebuilding. I hate how social media has broken our brains. 030
Yewnyx @yewnyx.bsky.social · 26/02/2025Finally got around to playing Outer Wilds. I can tell I’ll love the story. Execution on the gameplay is 90% excellent, 10% “I don’t want to play this anymore” levels of frustrating. Desperately needs a little more QoL for the directionally challenged (like me). 150
Yewnyx @yewnyx.bsky.social · 15/02/2025Looked at some random fandom pop up on my feed & realized that serious opinions all trends towards asinine or hysterical when crammed into the short form, and that I can’t even avoid the splash damage by following mostly just artists Feel like I need to only shitpost in public & make a private acct 120

Yewnyx @yewnyx.bsky.social · 17/01/2025I think that there is no form of asynchronous social media that is healthy to consume for more than five minutes an hour. I'm okay with ads, actually, but I think every last feed-based social app is destined to make money off of feeding you like pigs at a trough, and that's the real harm. 030

Yewnyx @yewnyx.bsky.social · 14/01/2025Apologies for the politicalposting, I’ll make it quick. Jack should have triggered the constitutional crisis of a convicted president. Cowardly not to. It’s not accountability when you allow votes to pardon any crime, and it’s not democracy when crime can brazenly pervert the will of the people.bbc.comTrump would have been convicted of election interference, DoJ report saysA prosecutor says there was enough evidence in the 2020 US election case - but he was scuppered by Trump's win in 2024. 100

Yewnyx @yewnyx.bsky.social · 27/12/2024TBH, I don't really enjoy wishing people Merry Christmas, but I like people enough to humor the exchanges, and receive them with the warmth they intended. But the holiday really doesn't mean much to me...designated times of year for families to get together aren't universally positive for everyone. 340

You need: - Normalized & visible economy use - Actual value provided - Information about that value (ratings/reviews) - A retentive user journey that takes payment into account (start them free, teach them about $, encourage to spend) - and more... 1142
Yewnyx @yewnyx.bsky.social · 16/12/2024IMO it's not really a community problem nor that people don't want to support. It's that VRChat has not shipped the tools to make money off of worlds sold as products. Selling games on VRChat does not and cannot work under the current model; it is impossible to ship good value in exchange for $. 290
Yewnyx @yewnyx.bsky.social · 10/12/2024Latest in microcontroller adventures! I made a green LED blink. Less technically impressive than writing a display driver, but importantly, I’m learning the electronics side of things, and bought the right components (phew)! I plan to make an infrared remote control for my aircon units. 1100
