New publication from the lab! Winter cold doesn't just make plants flower. Long cold also primes them to regenerate🌱❄️. We show cold-induced CBFs recruit HAG1 to switch on key regeneration genes like WOX5. Many congrats to @fu-yu-h.bsky.social! www.cell.com/developmenta...

My postdoc preprint is now online @biorxiv-plants.bsky.social. We established HYDRA, a shoot regeneration assay in Arabidopsis without exogenous hormones, and show that photosynthesis-derived carbon drives regeneration via RBR1 pathway–mediated cell cycle activation. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Photosynthesis-derived carbon gates cell cycle activation to enable hormone-autonomous shoot regeneration
Shoot regeneration is a powerful model for cell fate reprogramming but how it occurs in nature remains poorly understood because studies in Arabidopsis thaliana conventionally rely on in vitro assays ...

How do plants regenerate after wounding? Our new work shows that HSFA1 transcription factors are among the earliest wound-activated regulators of cellular reprogramming in plants!

Our new work uncovering how WIND1 promotes somatic embryogenesis as a bifunctional chromatic regulator!!!! We knew WIND1 promotes new fate acquisition and now we show WIND1 also helps repressing existing identity!

Looking forward to this final session of #ICAR2025 — everything has been incredibly well organized from start to finish. And now, with watermelons being served, it’s starting to feel like the perfect Turkish-style farewell — the watermelon signal that it’s almost time to part ways.

Uggh. I really wish that publishers would not be doing this. This is in Oncogene. Can we get one download button for one file containing the article + all supplemental figures and tables, please? The Cell suite of journals actually does this and it is so lovely.
Screenshot from the website of Oncogene, a scientific journal. It shows "Supplementary Information" and then 9 hyperlinks to Supplementary Figures 1-8 and a Supplementary table.
