Doing these drills will help build a grip controls that both preignition movement and movement caused by pressing the trigger itself. Instead of letting the trigger surprise you, learn the skill of knowing that when you mash the trigger, the gun is going to go off.

We know we talk about this a lot, but the one shot return drill in live fire and the trigger control at speed drill in live fire and dry fire are great ways to learn how to slam the trigger (mimicking pressing the trigger quickly).

And for your firing hand, learn to pull the trigger straight to the rear and isolate movement of the trigger finger (as opposed to moving the whole hand).

Rather than trying to let the trigger surprise you to control preignition movement, the better way to do it is by practicing building a grip, especially with your support hand, that controls and counteracts preignition movement.

does lead the shooter to subconsciously move the sights off target while pressing the trigger. This is a common cause or the low/low-left shot pattern for new shooters. The gun going off should not be a surprise.

Yellow Peril Tactical @yellowperiltac.bsky.social · 13/09/2025
For sure, preignition movement is a problem a lot of new shooters and even shooters who are more experienced have. The preignition movement, what most people know as flinching when pulling the trigger,

The theory being if the trigger surprises you, you won’t involuntarily flinch with your firing hand in anticipation of the recoil, thereby not moving the gun off target. Just leave this canard in the past.

“Let the trigger surprise you” Something that for years many shooters were instructed is to let the trigger surprise you. I.e. to press through the wall and the break and not think about when the gun is going to go off, so that it surprises you.
Fuddlore Friday:
"New to shooting? Let the trigger surprise you!"
"What? Just learn to slam the trigger and know the gun goes off."

If you’re trans and looking to tool up, the time is now. There’s no gun registry in the USA for existing owned firearms. But impeding regulations from AG Pam Bondi (who herself had an anti-gun record as Florida AG) could impair your ability to buy from an FFL. edition.cnn.com/2025/09/04/p...

Thankfully, the difference in cost between Dagger/RXM and Glock is less stark than Vimes’ boots. And the difference is less stark when you budget in the fact that your new pistol, regardless of what it is, will need light, holster, mags, and optic.

You need the shit to work all the time without breaking and if it does break, you need to fix it quickly and inexpensively by yourself.
130
Yellow Peril Tactical @yellowperiltac.bsky.social · 04/09/2025
Unfortunately you, a financially conscious buyer, cannot afford to be tinkering with crap, have things frequently break, sending your only gun back to the manufacturer etc.

Yellow Peril Tactical @yellowperiltac.bsky.social · 04/09/2025
Whereas PSA historically is of the vibe of outsourcing quality control to the user, and the RXM you’re basically beta testing.

Yellow Peril Tactical @yellowperiltac.bsky.social · 04/09/2025
As go boots, so too handguns. Recall our earlier post (on IG and Twitter) about Glock clones. What you’re paying for with the original is quality control in materials and manufacturing tolerance so your 19 is made to spec every time.

Over the course of those 10 years, the rich person has saved money by not having to buy boots every year over the decade.
140
Yellow Peril Tactical @yellowperiltac.bsky.social · 04/09/2025
So the theory goes, a rich person can get a pair really good $50 boots that would keep their feet dry for 10 years. The poor, meanwhile, can only afford shoddy $10 boots that least for a year or so.

Second had a couple ways to shoot. You could shoot all the left targets from position 1 if you did a really awkward and extreme lean (on a no-shoot partial). Our shooter is less limber and just planned to shoot it from the front. Worked out solid.

If you’re not classified yet, it’s pretty easy. You have to sign up for USPSA the org as opposed to just the matches, and then shoot 4 classifier stages. After that, it’s the best 6 of your last 8 most recent classifiers that count.

Yellow Peril Tactical @yellowperiltac.bsky.social · 26/08/2025
Classifiers are stages in matches that specifically contribute to your class percentage and therefore your classification (from D class to Grandmaster)

Yellow Peril Tactical @yellowperiltac.bsky.social · 26/08/2025
This is in contrast to the “stand and deliver” style older classifiers which are often have stuff like standing on one place, standing reloads, and strong and weak hand shooting.

In our previous battles, these technologies have provided a decisive advantage to the AlF and our allies in the fight against the dictatorship. Currently, amidst overwhelming losses all over the country, the dictatorship is attempting a counteroffensive in key regions.

Holosun IRIS series lasers now come in each of those tiers and seem to be the best value in late Summer 2025. Also pictured: Steiner DBAL-A3, which is in tier 3 above. Also good, but pricey, and the IR illuminator is embarrassingly weak, especially at the price point.

Yellow Peril Tactical @yellowperiltac.bsky.social · 22/08/2025
The power of lasers is controlled by the FDA, and commercial civilian lasers will generally all have similar output. Stronger mil contract lasers are available out there for a huge price increase.

Tiers 2 and 3 are the sweet spot. At tier 2, you can learn the new aiming skill through dryfire by viewing the red/green laser without your night vision. At tier 3, you get more abilities to with your night vision device.

Yellow Peril Tactical @yellowperiltac.bsky.social · 22/08/2025
When it comes to shopping, there some considerations. Let’s call out the 4 tiers of modules. 1. Infrared laser OR red laser OR green laser 2. Infrared AND red OR green 3. Previous tier PLUS onboard IR illuminator 4. Previous tier PLUS onboard white light

3. You have to learn to aim without your normal index. I would rather do this than raise my optic and change my cheek weld to a chin weld. Basically aiming feels like point shooting but way less sketchy.
120
Yellow Peril Tactical @yellowperiltac.bsky.social · 22/08/2025
1. You have increased your signature by introducing lasers that may be visible to observers with night vision. I’m not the most concerned about this. 2. You have added 7ish ounces out there on the rail. Basically, your Faxon pencil barrel is cancelled out.

This solution allows you to maintain your entire field of view (even if it’s just a 50º cone of your PVS-14 single tube). This does affect 3 things:

Yellow Peril Tactical @yellowperiltac.bsky.social · 22/08/2025
You’ll hear people refer to that as “active aiming.” The laser mounts to your carbine's rail and projects a laser beam when you activate it. It’s like being a bad guy with an MP5 in a 90’s action movie.

In an earlier post, we and hevalti.fun.club (IG) talked about using a high optic mount to aim under night vision. Although the high mount makes NODs usable, it’s not ideal versus using the same optic in the day. The solution is using a laser to aim.
