Just saw Citizen Kane for the first time (in theater) because it’s critically acclaimed as the best Hollywood film (felt obliged). I’ll be thinking about it for weeks, but my main takeaway is that it’s about the eternal struggle with male ego. Not to mention the technical groundbreaking it made.

Herbert the Herb garden is doing very well this year with a bunch of volunteers seeded from last year. Mixed in is some raw, dirty wool to keep the rodents away (it’s working). Rosemary, 3 types of basil, chives, dill, oregano, cilantro, and parsley. 💚

I’m reading my workplace’s set up guide for Claude Code. One of the first unqualified pieces of advice is to set it up in a VM. I assume the reasoning there is so Claude can’t access the files on my computer. So the first rec in starting to use this tool is to protect myself from this tool.

I usually think “well if I figured this out, anyone can” at work, but sometimes when I explain what I did to people they get so impressed and then I get embarrassed. I work with VERY intelligent people, so I’m 99% sure it’s just lack of bandwidth on their part. But also 😊😊😊😊

Balance. - made a logic breakthrough at work. - felt a whisker, went to the bathroom to pluck and couldn’t find it. Recalled the lighting isn’t the problem, I need my glasses to see them now. Went back to my office to retrieve the glasses that were on top of my head the whole time. Re-humbled.

While waking up early is still very difficult, after about 3 months of working out 3-4 times per week, my body still hums with pleasure the rest of the day on workout days. Haven’t really lost any weight, maybe 5 pounds tops, but my lungs and heart feel awesome. Still hate mornings, though.
