It's time for fall fits! Well, just a little accessory to keep the wind and the rain out. I like to wear my Tunisian crochet cowls to spice up my boring outfits. They are small projects in which you can play with new techniques, like this special mosaic that uses diagonal stitches. 1/2

Someone somewhere said something about making an Ascot cravat. They were talking about knitting, but I do Tunisian crochet, so here we are. Haven't been able to get it out of my head until I made it. With feathers, of course. Lovely alpaca in lace weight and a 4 mm hook.
Dark blue scarf or cravat made in Tunisian crochet with lace weight yarn. The scarf is narrow in the middle, where it is looped over itself, with wider ends that finish in a point. A stylized feather motif shows up on both ends. Dark blue ascot cravat with feather lace patterning

The pattern is out and I can finally share the whole project with you. It took me three months to design and make the first sample, but a lot of that time was spent thinking and deciding on grading. I hope the solution I've decided on is good enough for everyone. This is Tunisian crochet mosaic.

Sleeve detail. This is at the underside of the sleeve, so it will rarely be seen, but I love how the mosaic looks mirrored like that. It's one of the little details that makes this upcoming pattern special. For each size I made sure the mosaic is mirrored perfectly both in the body and sleeves.

This is a type of ribbing I like to add to cardigans. It's made up of rows of Tunisian simple stitches and the opposite of Tunisian simple stitches. It's got the same height as the rest of the fabric, but it lays flat, without pulling the fabric in.

In celebration of Pride Month, I created this lacy Tunisian crochet design. I wrote up the pattern and it's free to download this month on Payhip and Ravelry. I'll add the links below. I hope you enjoy! #tunisiancrochet #pridemonth payhip.com/b/Q4Tzq www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

Happy to announce a new collaboration with Needle & Skein in Minnesota. This one is for all the folks in the warmer regions who want to show their solidarity with people who are affected by ICE. The proceeds from the sale of their patterns go towards charities providing services to those affected.

Sometimes the beauty of a lace pattern can be obscured by the fluffiness of the yarn itself. In this case, the little project on my Tunisian crochet hook is made up of 3 rows that create a lovely lace pattern only when you look through it. Looking at it, you can't even tell how thick the yarn is.
Lacy Tunisian crochet project on the hook, in front of a window, showing the eyelet pattern in stacked V shapes. Same project on a sunny table, but you can't see any of the lace. The yarn has bands of darker and lighter red.

This month, Patrons get a beautiful Tunisian crochet leafy lace pattern that can easily be scaled or used for other projects. The pattern itself is written for making baby blankets, but I can think of multiple projects that would look just as good in this stitch pattern.

I made a mistake in the pattern. You should repeat row 64 after making it, not 44. An errata might turn up at some point, but it's better if you see it now. I'm thinking of filming a video for a small version, just to show the construction. Would you be interested in that? #TunisianCrochet

If you've been wanting to make a Melt the ICE hat in Tunisian crochet, now you can. It's made sideways with a straight hook, no short rows (although if you want one with short rows you can try the elf hat). All proceeds go to help those affected by the raids. payhip.com/b/rn5xk

The last project of last year is the last pattern for this year. Doing the math for all six sizes of this made my head spin a little, but the trusty spreadsheet came to the rescue once more. This Tunisian crochet elf hat pattern is free on my blog for your enjoyment yarnandy.com/tunisian-cro...

Restarted the leg warmer with 3 mm needles and it's much better. Will fit just right. I'm really enjoying the pattern and have already memorized it. Treble Jig Legwarmers by Síle Maureen for @fastenoffyal.bsky.social
Two pieces of leg warmer with cables. The top one is on the knitting needles, the bottom one bound off. The top one is much narrower and the stitches are more consistent than in the bottom piece.

What an awesome project! I love seeing new ways to use a Tunisian crochet mosaic motif and this one is just wonderful 😍

Testing call for knitters! This lovely pullover would like to be yours. All you need is DK weight yarn and a passion for cables. I used the lovely Amraya Dream Weaver from Sparwolle and can't wait to make another. It's my first time working with baby alpaca and now I want to make all the things.

Speaking of cotton and Tunisian crochet, finally some silence so I can relax with a new summer project with no pressure. Just some smooth cotton, a wavy stitch pattern, a 5 mm hook, and the @neurostitches.bsky.social podcast.

It seemed easier to make this Tunisian crochet shawl than to explain how to make it. Finally managed to finish laying out all the little bits of charts. Would it have been easier to make a triangle shawl? Sure. Would I have loved it as much? No chance. Testing call tomorrow. Open your email 😄
Rounded triangle shawl made in dark gray and mustard yellow fingering weight yarn, with most of the dark yarn towards the top, a band of mosaic honey bees around the lower edge, above a lacy yellow edge. Seen worn on the back, covering the shoulders.

Three months is a reasonable time to develop a comprehensive overview of shawl shapes in Tunisian crochet, complete with graphs that show you how they look and how they're built, right? Well, it has to be because that's how long it took. yarnandy.com/how-to-make-...

That's a big yoke. I'm working to stitch counts based on the swatch I showed you before. It might be too big, but maybe it works. Need to divide for sleeves and to add a little fabric at the back. I learned that you can make full rows at the back to lift the back neckline.

When direct approaches don't work to solve a problem, it sometimes helps to try a parallel approach. In my line of work, that means a new project with a similar construction, but much simpler, but in an extremely fun yarn. And yes, swatches are crucial.

Ok, I've decided. I'll be using this space to share things as they are in real time. I'm chaotic, working on many things at the same time, making progress here and there. This Tunisian crochet hat is finished, but the pattern is just on a piece of paper for now.

Let's start this right. I'm here to help folks and cheer you on your projects. I love Tunisian crochet (and regular crochet and knitting too) and that's what I spend most of my time doing, writing about, making videos about. I also dye yarn and make yarn and sew, but those are hobbies.
