“Southern pine inspector” t shirt @yarlesp.bsky.social · 25/09/2026it feels like a back-in-the-day engineering school experience where the institution is maniacally conspiring against you. instead of the soft era of today with dropping your worst exam, recording lectures for people who cant make it etc. 0100
“Southern pine inspector” t shirt @yarlesp.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I think this professor has a reputation for doing bizzare shit on exams, I caught a couple of his tricks on the first question but missed one that I think was fatal. lying in bed last night I realized I probably did the second question wrong, and I didn't even have time to finish the 4th. 190
“Southern pine inspector” t shirt @yarlesp.bsky.social · 25/09/2026the whole class got wrecked by this test we took, there were several gasps when the professor said we only had 30 minutes left and maybe 10 people out of 130 turned their papers in before the test was done. pretty funny. if I got a 50 I'll be surprised. 2110

“Southern pine inspector” t shirt @yarlesp.bsky.social · 02/09/2026I don’t do a lot of this but every once in a while I look way too far ahead in the program and get excited about classes that I’m like 2 years away from. Also think about ideas for my senior project that may or may not be possible, I don’t know enough to know if my ideas violate laws of physics. 2160
“Southern pine inspector” t shirt @yarlesp.bsky.social · 01/09/2026heavily doubting the professor is reading all 130 of these 'tell me about yourself' assignments. I don't expect the electrical and computer engineering department to be like a poetry seminar or something. its fine. 080
“Southern pine inspector” t shirt @yarlesp.bsky.social · 14/08/2026the best part about this for our work is that the decking is on the roof but nothings waterproofed yet, so our electrical room gets drenched anytime we have a storm. we pulled breakers out to dry them off and covered the gear and motor control center in tarps but its like, not good 020
“Southern pine inspector” t shirt @yarlesp.bsky.social · 14/08/2026we had an insane rain event today, sheets of water across the road, hail etc. typically the creek is flowing at the same rate it is in january, which I imagine is the absolute minimum from springs or whatever. 130

“Southern pine inspector” t shirt @yarlesp.bsky.social · 27/06/2026A while ago I took apart a crappy bookcase we had and made tripods for the tomato plants by ripping the scraps into 1” strips. The tripods don’t work well so I tossed them in my storage unit and they’ve sat there for several years and I’m now remaking them into more effective trellises. 080
