Was there a really big guy there? Did he have tears streaming from his eyes? Did he say "Sir, sir, I can't thank you enough". Like a really big guy, tears streaming down his face saying "Sir, thank you, sir. You're the greatest premiere we've ever had" Was it like that?

Hey if Ksi Lisims is "Indigenous led" and owned by the Nisga'a Nation, then why's the deal being signed by two old white guys? Who's really running the show over there? Hint: American billionaires in Texas.
The text is boilerplate O&G industry hoo haw about a state-owned German company promising to probably buy something at some point in the distant future. The photo is of a standard signing ceremony, featuring two old white guys shaking hands and holding the signed deal in some old white guy's corporate boardroom.

There's also this, if you can make it by the 29th
Poster for a film screening of Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk taking place in Terrace on May 29. Doors open at 5:30pm at Ksan Place, 2812 Hall Street. The film is a series of video conversations between Palestinian photojournalist Fatma Hassona and Iranian film director Sepideh Farsi, recorded over the period of about a year in 2024 and 2025. The film was selected for the Cannes Film Festival, but the day after the announcement, Fatma and her family were targeted by an Israeli missile strike in their home and killed.

Facebook post by owners of the Ksi Lisims LNG project proposed for Nisga'a territory. If this is supposed to be a "Nisga'a-led project" then why is the ad saying "they chose..." instead of "WE chose..."???? The Trump-adjacent owners wrote this ad, not the Nisga'a govt who supposedly owns the thing.

Interesting juxtaposition here
Tweet by Caitlin Johnstone followed by one made by Mark Carney at about the same time.

Caitlin Johnstone: Can’t believe Iran attacked Israel completely unprovoked, just because they’re Jewish.

Mark Carney: Iran’s nuclear program has long been a cause of grave concern, and its missile attacks across Israel threaten regional peace.

Today, I convened our National Security Council to receive an update on the situation and to ensure that all necessary steps will be taken to protect our nationals and our diplomatic missions in the region.

Canada reaffirms Israel’s right to defend itself and to ensure its security. We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and move towards a diplomatic resolution.

The case in Canada for oil and gas pipelines to supply Asia gets worse again this year. When will we learn? We can't bet our future on a *scheduled* dwindling demand for O&G. carboncredits.com/china-sets-c...
Text in the screen shot:
Coal and Gas Use Drops

Thanks to the increase in clean energy, China was able to reduce its use of fossil fuels. Coal-fired electricity dropped by 4%, falling to 1,421 TWh.

Coal is still the largest source of electricity in China, but its share fell from 63% to 58%. This is a sign that clean energy is starting to take over more of the power mix.

Gas-fired power also went down by 4%, reaching 67 TWh. Gas is a cleaner fossil fuel than coal, but it still produces carbon emissions. Reducing gas use along with coal is important for meeting climate goals.

As a result of these changes, the total electricity from fossil fuels dropped to 2,445 TWh in Q1 2025. While fossil fuels still provide more than half of China’s electricity, the gap is narrowing as clean energy continues to grow.
China Pulls Ahead in the Global Clean Energy Race

China’s clean energy growth was much higher than in other big economies. In the U.S., clean electricity rose by just 6% in early 2025. In Europe, it actually fell by 5% due to less hydro generation and delays in new wind projects.

Chris Young
Tonight the Republican-controlled House of Representatives passed a budget resolution cutting nearly $1 trillion from Medicaid. Medicaid pays for my home health aides to get me out of bed every morning and for the majority of my healthcare costs, including formula for my G-tube, replacement catheters, respiratory supplies for my ventilator, and all other medical expenses, including specialty medication for my Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
To everyone who can read this and who voted for Trump, I invite you to come to my house, look me straight in the eye, and explain to me why you think I should lie in this bed for the short rest of my days and rot to my death because I don't have the support that I need to stay alive.
The budget still has to pass the Senate and be reconciled. There is time to stop this. Call and write your Republican House and Senate members and make it clear to them that the destruction of my life and millions of others who depend upon Medicaid was not what you voted for.
Unless, of course, you do want me to die a painful death along with millions of people like me. In which case fuck you.
PS. Don't just like, hug, or heart this message. Repost it. Make it go viral. Don't cut-and-paste. Forward it.

In other words: You can have democracy, or you can have inequality. You can't have both. (David Graeber, writing in 2007)
Image has this text highlighted: "The American Federalists were being quite realistic when they argued that democracy is inconsistent with a society based on inequalities of wealth; since, in order to protect wealth, one needs an apparatus of coercion to keep down the very mob that democracy would empower."
