A motivational poster with a photo of Thomas Midgley Jr., the inventor of leaded gassonline, CFCs and the polio strangler. Underneath it has the test "Whatever you do keep inventing" and "Just because your first idea was a bad idea doesn't mean your second idea couldn't be worse"

Currently setting up a new server in my homelab and reconfiguring everything. On paper it should be smooth sailing but in practice it's pulling bad drives that need refurbishing, printing missing parts, searching for misplaced spare drives I bought 3 years ago, long waits, doubting configs etc.

The idea of using bsky and other apps feels appealing but the whole getting started is a pain. No clue who to follow and the idea of posting is like writing a message in a bottle. No idea if it ever even gets read. Not to mention the dread that it’s near impossible to know who’s a bot these days.

Spent all evening trying to figure out how I can use an ESP32 as a SPI slave so that I can send data to a Raspberry pi over SPI. Only just realized that I'm making it harder than I need to since I can just do it over USB 🤦‍♂️

Just my luck, first Cloudflare is down for half a day and now Github is down. What's next? No seriously what's next? I might need to prepare for it
