A hard year of weekends 😮‍💨 but I've finally released my first ios app akiya.app/join My take on gym tracking that takes what worked best for me in apps like strong and hevy and extending that with richer analytics and improved ui/ux Let me know if you try it out 🤝

These were fun to work on! A Strava like workout session sharing with custom images and a quick action to schedule in your calendar 🗓️

All I had to do to fix my app's issues on ios 26 😅

Feels nice to re-use same components in different context, while still maintaining unique value - here category chart reflects your all time breakdown and allows you to then drill down to workout specific stats as well.

Home widget selection and management starting to come together really nice 🔧

Not a super productive weekend, but managed to wrap up this custom search input today 🔎

Codex is quiet cool. I have a feature that tracks workout locations, so asked it to create a sheet that shows a global map for all of these. 5min in and it made a great PR. UX is really nice, I can kick off a task and then move onto next one while I wait to review it's work.

Back from an amazing hackathon with the team and managed to win one of the prizes 😁🏆 — built a "prompt to widget" canvas while exploring interesting ui/ux ideas. Backed by our api, interactive and modular.

Thrilled to kick off a new chapter at OpenSea ⛵️ already had a chance to work with their amazing team and am super excited to help build OS2! Will try to post interesting and useful web3 tech insights that I learn as well 📝

Continuing with location features today. Added full interactive map to explore area around your workout. Learned about neat MapKit option that I wasn't aware of called "pointsOfInterest" that allows to display only "fitnessCenter" locations making this view less busy and more contextual 🗺️

🗺️ Starting on a new feature today, by allowing users to enable workout location tracking. Next, I want to display all your workouts on a global map + count at each location, kinda like @levels.io does for travels on nomad list

TIL; you can combine Swift @Observable's with various delegate classes like location, watch etc. and update associated state values. Get's rid of so much boilerplate 🧹 here's basic location delegate I'm working on atm

Decided to try @vscode.dev insiders build today, as it has new agent mode support for copilot. Very impressive! Asked it to implement new setting and after 2min all I had to do is review this absolutely perfect git diff. It added new fields to db schema and controllers, i18n and ui to toggle it.

So proud of how far we've progressed with Junction exchange. App is feeling like a proper defi product already, ux we achieved is just 🤌 and there are still plenty of cool improvements and features to come.

Taking what I learned from SwiftUI and applying it in web 📝 Made a custom sheet with gestures, elastic animations and even velocity detection 😮‍💨. Feels really nice on mobile web with extra css tricks like "user-select: none" and "transition-behavior: allow-discrete"

🏋️‍♂️ Say hello to a more personalized fitness dashboard! Added a feature that allows users to sort or hide home widgets to see exactly what they want, where they want. I hope this will come in handy as widget catalogue grows to include more data

@vscode.dev and @github.com co-pilot have gotten so good, that I decided to switch back from cursor. I find "Edit with Copilot" feature easier to use and results are great! It's free as well! 💡 Tip: Provide references to your existing code when prompting to get pretty much spot on results

Sweating through implementing all of these layout animations today, something that would be so simple with SwiftUI is actually really hard on web atm, but @motion.dev is coming in clutch 💪

Finally able to work on my app again after 2 month break 😮‍💨 Polishing failure/edge cases with watch connectivity atm. Cool that you can detect if companion watch app is installed or reachable. Can now give user more context on what to do in any of these cases with nice baby sheet.

I really hope @bsky.app implements something like X's community notes. The way people went ham on each of honey's posts after MegaLag exposed their scammy/fraudulent activity is just something else 👏 If you haven't seen the video yet, highly recommend www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc4y...

For the longest time I've been using Claude's web interface as my ai tool of choice, but ChatGPT now has this awesome canvas feature taking ux to the next level 👌 ability to edit specific parts is great

This feature tested me 😅 but now there is a good superset ux and a more robust data structure for workouts and exercises

✨ I think this is (so far) the best product I tried that brings cursor's experience to XCode, also seems to be free for now alexsidebar.app

Was exploring how to handle numeric inputs on the watchOS a while ago and eventually ended up on a flow like this. Works really well imho and feels nice to use on actual device Digital crown is OP 👑

I absolutely love using custom keyboards where system ones fall short, imho when implemented correctly: audio feedback, localization, accessibility, behavior etc... these can be super powerful ⌨️ 📚 I use this lib, which takes away a lot of implementation complexity github.com/paescebu/Cus...

A while ago, I was researching ways to implement progressive blur effect in swiftui and came across various complex implementations. So far simple uikit blur representable and mask gradient seems to be clean and performant. 📝 Code gist.github.com/xzilja/cc5ef...

Yuri always posts bangers 🚀 I tried to play with this idea in swift ui, came up with quiet cool use case of converting images from PhotosUI picker to ascii art, rough around the edges, but kinda works 😅 Here is a quick and super messy code gist gist.github.com/xzilja/da9c1...

Was using custom structs and formulas to work with values like weights, heights and distances in order to support different units (kg / lb). Turns out there is a built in struct for this 🤦‍♂️ and its supports conversion, formatting, arithmetic ops and more developer.apple.com/documentatio...

Removed my last timer in favor of using swiftui TimelineView. It's so good when sprinkled around the app granularly for things like ago time labels, countdowns etc.. much better performance wise as well and gives app that "real time" feel with no hassle ⏳ Docs developer.apple.com/documentatio...

Swift Charts is definitely up there now as my favourite charting library 📊 so much cool customization and chart types to play with 👌 Found this WWDC vid particularly useful 🔗 developer.apple.com/videos/play/...

Probably not the best idea to use this in production 🤷‍♂️ but you can get a great emoji picker / keyboard by using secret raw value for SwiftUI TextField keyboardType. Clean, searchable and supports various emoji variations

Really hyped about how this "about exercise" view turned out. Hope I can replace these standard videos with an interactive @splinetool.bsky.social animation in the future 🫦

💅 On to the little things today - you can use custom sf symbols as an image source in Menu labels, which could help make them look more aligned with your custom designs Apple has few videos on the topic 🔗 developer.apple.com/videos/play/... developer.apple.com/videos/play/...

Few custom inputs for managing numeric values. I'm slapping .numericText on everything these days 😅 That timer input turned out easier to build than I though with new scroll modifiers. If you want to dive deeper, this WWDC session is super helpful 👌 developer.apple.com/videos/play/...

TIL; if you need to run same logic when swiftui view appears or it's state value changes, you can use "initial: true" to combine these conditions into one modifier 🧪

A preview for an interactive 💪 picker. This doesn't use any special graphics libraries, just SwiftUI and some overlayed images that use template rendering mode. Supports both masculine and feminine body types 👟

Who said page transitions on web need to be boring ✏️ there is a lot that can be done by tapping into @nextjs.org router context and using AnimatedPresence from @motion.dev by @citizenofnowhe.re Try it out at 👇 🔗 app.junction.exchange

Working on "smaller" things this week ⌚️ low key really hard to reason about how to design things on watchOS 😅 Need to make relatively dense views while making everything finger friendly. Slowly getting there though, with things looking similar to iOS. Critique / advice welcome on this one 💬

Wanted to break "outside" of default ios segment / picker controllers and eventually landed on this nice metric selector. Inspired by older css trend - I believe it was lava or magnet links 😅 as always #swiftui made it a breeze to implement

Currently obsessed with #swiftui blurReplace transition modifier 😶‍🌫️ applied it to enter / exit animation of this rest timer, and it's 10x better than simple opacity change I had before
