A thing I think is funny is that the author tried to be inclusive by making shit up. Like "Women take G force better than men which makes them perfect pilots". Which is funny when the book implies ideals of "unlimited democracy" are based on pseudo sciences. Then he makes shit up.

I'm going deep into a Muv-Luv/Starship Troopers rabbit hole. I'm currently re-reading Starship trooper (for the first time in English) and yesterday dad made me rewatch the movie (which butchers the book but still is entertaining). There's a few funny things in the book

I love how anti drone personal weapons always look unnecessarily futuristic. I highly doubt there's a reason for these false vents on the sides and complex pattern when normally it should just look like a brick. I think designers went on a field day on it like "fuck it, Psycho-Pass gun"

Unironically a great movie. The director kinda failed in his idea of making a satire of the book since instead of making the regime seem bad, he accidentally made militarism look good by making it fight an uncaring, cruel and inhuman enemy. The book's also a good read despite its bad reputation.
