Obviously, some music theory will help you dictate what notes go where and what chords to use, but the main thing to keep in mind is knowing what key you’re in, and know what notes sound good in that key, and then making sure all of the instruments are following the same rules. 040

xwhyohwhyx.bsky.social @xwhyohwhyx.bsky.social · 28/01/2025Having picked a key signature from the start helps, and then maybe writing out the chord progression and making sure each instrument falls into the chord and that each chord leads into the next. If you wanna write longer songs, it helps to have a structure in place like AABA or verse/chorus 020
