this isn't ripping out the pico-8 lua exactly but essentially rewriting the same lua but for love2d the background is still software because i couldn't be bothered to figure out a shader just yet but made a replacement for fillp i felt happy with as a shader

i wanna do a redraw/whatnot of the piece with the same vibes as i did for 2024 and 2025 but it's been a while since i've drawn like that that wasn't just a sketch for something else so i'm nervous on trying to tackle it

Pixelle with a necklace that has a charm shaped like a chip. Her visor is not blue but green, and there's vague Darkest Dungeon mental effect and general eldritch symbolism in the background very faintly.

October 2025 piece.

Pixelle with the same green visor as 2024 with no background but a much larger, sharp toothed grin.

if anyone is remotely curious about the pedals i used the spraypaint feature like how people do leaves for trees for the cherry blossoms along with flipping the entire layer for the mirrored ones, just clicking briefly not to drown them in pedals example shown below

since that render i did lose the texture, so had to redraw it alongside all the shader work i did since then visor being the most complicated one because. it's a light source the scanlines (done with wave texture) also animate with the scene but unless one is VERY close, it's so hard to notice

ellipses optimization time which was simpler than i thought

A screenshot of text diff. There's more being added, but it's scaling down before starting the ellipse calculations, then scaling back up when modifying the document data.

For a 8x16 font, this cuts work done on the x-axis to 1/8th and y-axis work to 1/16th the original amount of work.
