BTW you can also use the ManT1S-Bridge with the @arduino SPE Shield to simplify your #development. Just be careful and pull the V+PoE jumper if you're on a #PoE switch because the Arduino PoE shield can not handle PoE 48 V, only 24 V! Below you can see socket […] [Original post on noc.social]
On top is a terminal showing a Python session running the same code as before on MicroPython to send data through a socket to the Arduino SPE Shield:
s.sendto(b'This is sent from a PC through ManT1S-Bridge', sockaddr)
Below the Arduino Serial Monitor shows this data arriving at the Arduino using the UDP_Server example code.

I decided it was kind of important to make sure the ManT1S is #compatible with the (only?) other T1S board on the market, the #Arduino SPE Shield. Yep, it works! 😉 @arduino @microchipmakes @espressifsystem #embedded #networking #esp32 Please sign up at […] [Original post on noc.social]

Working on more #demo #hardware for the ManT1S #campaign #video! This is supposed to highlight the advantage of taking a #modular approach. (Locally extendable with more sensors, still to come!) Just one twisted pair running down the arm for #power and […] [Original post on noc.social]

Is building something with tie straps "proper" enough for a CrowdSupply campaign #video or is it too hokey? 😳😅 #maker #lowtech #demo #wired #networking www.crowdsupply.com/silicognition/m…

BTW the wESP32-Prog was just there because I was loading #software. As you can see, one nice advantage of having a single line of pins for the #programmer is that you can connect it from the top or the bottom of the board. And if you use the wESP32-Prog-C, you […] [Original post on noc.social]

Working on #campaign #video demos for the ManT1S! Turning this dumb floodlight into a #smart #networked one. Do you think T1S Single Pair #Ethernet will work over that fat repurposed #power cable? Stay tuned! 😉😁 #IoT #homeautomation www.crowdsupply.com/silicognition/m…

Checking ManT1S at 75V... yep just fine! 💪⚡️ So even if you're not interested in T1S networking, you might want to check it out just to have an #ESP32 #microcontroller board that can handle high voltage! 😋 www.crowdsupply.com/silicognition/m…
ManT1S board test setup with a bench supply powering the ManT1S with 75V, and the ManT1S controlling an LED floodlight. The supply shows it's providing 20.85W.

Also #progress on ManT1S @esphome support! First successful #compile and #boot. Took quite a bit of fiddling with the YAML to overrule the pin validator and add the LAN867x component. Weird to have to alter source code, but pull the library in in the project YAML […] [Original post on noc.social]

It just occurred to me that ManT1S may actually be a good fit for #wearable #electronics / #cosplay #costume applications. I don't know much about this, but just wiring your power to the nodes and getting comms between them for free seems nice, right? 🤔 Maybe I […] [Original post on noc.social]

#Performance is a bit #overrated when it comes to passing messages between #embedded nodes. I mean, most get by just fine with #serial ports talking at 115.2 kpbs or something like that. But since people are curious about the #bandwidth of the T1S channel […] [Original post on noc.social]

Once you add the ManT1S-Bridge, everything changes. You can just use standard networking tools to test your APIs. You can work with the nodes of a #distributed system without continuously switching serial console connections. Distributed becomes as easy as […] [Original post on noc.social]

Another thing I'm a big fan of is MicroPython! ManT1S will ship with an OTA-capable #MicroPython runtime pre-installed, with WebREPL enabled out of the box. This means that you can load files and get a console over the network when you use the ManT1S-Bridge! It's […] [Original post on noc.social]
In a Linux shell, the following command is executed:
./webrepl_cli.py mant1s-678756

After password prompt and typing in the password, a MicroPython shell appears.
Then the commands:

import sys
sys.version

Respond with:

'3.4.0; MicroPython v1.26.0-preview.158.g5cfafb73d on 2025-05-28'

Here at Silicognition, we LOVE Sparkfun's Qwiic ecosystem! So of course, the ManT1S integrates a Qwiic #connector that allows you to make useful #systems just by plugging together some #modules! Sparkfun's website has 100+ modules available! […] [Original post on noc.social]

Oh and that ManT1S-Bridge that nicely gets all your T1S nodes onto your main network? Of course it can also provide power to your T1S network when you connect it to a PoE+ switch: up to 30W @ 48V! That's #power and #networking sorted out of the box for your […] [Original post on noc.social]

So when you have devices already hooked together with a pair of wires to #network them, why not use the same wires to distribute power too? Of course ManT1S does this! It wouldn't be a Silicognition product if we didn't also solve the power aspect for you would […] [Original post on noc.social]

Devices talking to each other is nice, but how do you talk to this T1S stuff from a normal network device? That's where the ManT1S-Bridge companion device comes in: suddenly all these T1S devices show up on your #network!Priceless for #development and #production […] [Original post on noc.social]

I wasn't actually sure but it seems that you can use both wired and wireless network interfaces at the same time on the #ESP32. First request is on the LAN with a T1S interface while the second is going to the internet over wireless. #iot #networking
