12.5 years at one company. Retro every two weeks. I can't remember a single one that changed anything. Switched jobs. Now it's once a quarter, and the action items actually get fixed instead of rotting in a doc for years. Never thought the answer would be this boring: do it less, but mean it.

I shipped a client's new e-commerce platform on 8x less hardware than before. Not a typo. Swapped Prestashop for a custom Go backend, wired in ERP and warehouse systems too. Day one: 500+ orders, zero issues. Smaller stack, smoother launch. What's the leanest setup you've ever shipped?

A week ago I've spoken on a TechDays 2026 by @nordvpn.bsky.social I was a bit nervous as this was my biggest stage ever. At least 100 attendees on-site & another 500+ watching online. I've talked about Sandbox'ing AI Coding agents using #docker. Now, I wonder where will be my next stage...

Somewhere out there, two conference organizers are deciding if I belong on their stage. Wild that this is something I get to be nervous about now.

Genuine question: why did we decide that the best place to receive security codes is on the same device where all our distractions live? The people who designed 2FA and the people who wrote deep work books clearly never had a meeting.

New job. New team. They use Kustomize instead of Helm. I’ve used both. But there’s a big difference between “used it” and “lived in it for 3 years.” I’m basically junior again and I hate it. Anyone else made this switch? Helm or Kustomize. Which side are you on?

At new work - they issues 14” MPB with M5. 14” feels so small. Ok, at the office, it’s usable with the extra monitor setup. But while traveling or working from home - it’s a bit too small for my personal preference. What’s your preference? 14” or 16”?

Next Friday will be my last day at the company. I have been here for the past 12 years. It is certainly an unusual experience, and I feel a mix of sadness and uncertainty about my future.

Docker Model Runner now supports the NVIDIA DGX Station GB300. The hardware is powerful but what makes it practical is the developer experience: pull, run, and iterate on larger models using the same Docker workflow you already know and trust. Learn more here: bit.ly/4dX6w7g

If you've ever had a production incident caused by an upstream image change, a mutable tag, or a dependency you didn't know existed in your Dockerfile — this is the post I wish I'd had. Docker build policies in 5 minutes, two copy-paste examples, zero excuses left.

Unpopular opinion: your Dockerfile review process is security theater. Humans miss things. AI assistants suggest things. Tags are mutable. latest is a lie. The only review that can't be skipped is one that runs before the build starts. Wrote about how to set that up with .rego policies in ~5 min.

Stop writing Dockerfiles like it’s 2015. You don’t need 47 lines of apt-get install, apt cache clean, and rm -rf just to build a base image. DHI lets you build Docker base images without a Dockerfile at all. Define what you want, skip the boilerplate, and stop pretending that cleanup is fun.

First day back and I'm already gearing up for the hardest conversation of the year. My CTO's tech stack choice is fundamentally broken, ChatGPT agrees with me, and now I have to somehow convince leadership they're wrong without becoming the person who got fired on day one. This is going to be fun.

Only one day left in 2025! Overall, it was a fantastic year. The only downside was that two long projects finally came to an end. One of them, which I'd been working on for ten years, was finally finished. What about yours?

Another issue with Ghostty, particularly on SSH connections, is that it doesn’t recognize the terminal type. While it’s easy to fix by adding a SetEnv command inside the .ssh/config file, it’s still an annoying problem that doesn’t work out of the box.

.NET, about a week ago: We wanted notifications on changes/deletions of specific entities. Simple. Override SaveChanges and fire based on ChangeTracker. Implemented. Works. Yesterday: Something wrong. Zero deletes. A few breakpoints later: Using a helper which doesn’t use EntityFramework. 🙈

Just opened a 3-year-old iOS project. Hit build. It compiled. First try. No errors. No warnings. Meanwhile, Android projects after 6 months: • AGP version incompatible • SDK target outdated • Gradle sync failed • "Google is your only hope" error messages.

Solvable, by just rotating a key. And let's hope, we don't have an issue somewhere in the codebase/deployment where we do expose these secrets...

It looks like 500+ weird domains are sending fake events into our analytics instance. Looks like real spam, but also, some well-known trusted domains (not ours) too... First idea, as we use Measurement Protocol API key got leaked somewhere, and someone are just spamming us.

Yesterday, I've asked how we can access application logs of live/prod deployments. I got answer, that I need to contact one person, and he will give me the zip archive with the logs of application on demand. No central logging are in place. With my DevOPS background - I felt like in stone age.

Docker just open-sourced a new CLI tool for managing AI agents called cagent: 🔧 Agents can use external tools and APIs via the MCP protocol 💭 Built-in "think", "todo" and "memory" tools 🌐 Support for OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and Docker Model Runner. Give it a try: github.com/docker/cagent

Have you ever had to create a lecture or tutorial for specific tasks, such as getting started with a particular SDK, introducing a framework, or testing? What tools have you found most helpful for this purpose? How have you ensured that students have all the necessary tools ready?

So, I've started building my own uptime monitoring solution, after multiple years of using uptimerobot.  I still use Pulsetic now, but I hope to build something better than it myself. Why? Well, I want to build something myself, and I'm already tired of everyone doing yet another habit/todo app.

And I do agree with this part. But so many times I heard requests to treat most of analytics/marketing scripts as mandatory. Or just - oh, add google tag manager as mandatory, and we will add all others from it. Welcome to 99 marketing scripts and 200 cookies.

Dev's are just implementing requirements from the clients / PO usually. They might not have a way to make influence on design, usability, etc.

Everyone seems to be building yet another habit tracker, and that field - overcrowded. My next project - uptime monitoring solution. A very niche product, but at least competition is smaller.
