normally this wouldnt matter as you can play games on so many devices but the xbox isnt just a piece of hardware it's a whole ecosystem. if it goes away the layoffs associated with it going away will make the recent layoffs look like a hiring boom in comparison.

she not talking about only xbox consoles. she is talking about all potential gaming devices.. Microsoft has unified the GDK so the xbox console built works on the xbox app pc(pre downloaded on most windows pc) and on xcloud which is pretty much on every device.

the next gen xbox has a dual boot "xbox mode" running the usuall "xbox os"(slim gaming only windows) and a full windows mode. I mean the series x already does it but the windows part is useless you cant do anything other than web browse on the edge browser. plays pc/steam games/xbox console games

the layoffs is because they waste time and labor on niche games like pentiment instead of going for big blockbusters. every game is a potential billion dollar game.. for example forza horizon 5 is a billion dollar game(before even coming to ps5) you dont see any layoffs at playground games.

The primary source of revenue is the digital store on the xbox console but that's under threat as the xbox console isnt doing so well cause it has no exclusives.. and most gamepass money is from there too.
