At one point while working on Planet Cube, there was a rework of all the art, and I had the chance to work on new designs and animations! Here's the Batz - a big part of the rework was the emphasis on volume, really leaning into the cube factor #pixelart #gamedev

What got me into game dev? Since I was little, I wanted to be a toy maker and made board games as a kid. It wasn't until Battle Block Theater from @thebehemothgames.bsky.social , where you could make custom levels and characters, that my mind connected the cables on what I wanted to do.

Look at all those level ideas! For us, it was essential to do everything first on paper. Once you know how everything works, it's not hard looking at them and telling what works and what doesn't. We have SO MANY pages just like this - I recommend this to any designer! #gamedev

A cool thing we did in Planet Cube: Edge was the cutscenes! They are a mix between 3D and #pixelart. We didn't want the 3D to be obvious, so every frame was imported into Aseprite and cleaned up by hand. Things like camera movement were animated in #Aseprite too. #gamedev
