Ah, one of my favourite ever audiobooks to narrate - Mary Renault’s The Last of the Wine - has just arrived on @xigxaguk.bsky.social (the ethical place to buy audiobooks). A truly amazing same-sex romance set in Ancient Greece. xigxag.co.uk/audiobook/th...

Kobo and particularly @xigxaguk.bsky.social is the way to go. Their x books work pretty well so you really can get a lot of reading and listening done with an ethical company.

I use Amazon more than I'd like, so I was pretty chuffed to get a Kobo reader for xmas. Now it's ebooks from them (and hopefully via @bookshop.org in future) and audiobooks from @xigxaguk.bsky.social hurrah.

I don't know who needs this but if you listen to audio books then check out xigxag, a UK alternative to feeding the tech billionaire overlords. Complete purchases through the website rather than the app as their fees are 3-4x less. You can still listen through the app though @xigxaguk.bsky.social

"How to Defeat the Far Right" is available as an X-book on XigXag, so you get the audio book & access to the text too so you can copy quotes. No subscription fees, either. You just buy the books you want. A very useful service. @xigxaguk.bsky.social

I'm loving @xigxaguk.bsky.social for #audiobooks, the player is amazing and it doesn't give Bezos any money! A B corp even. I assume (correct me if I'm wrong) but the author is also better treated and rewarded
