Yesterday, Xenosaga I + II turned 20 years old. Yeah, we're a bit late, but today, Bandai Namco has turned 20 years old! Yeah that's right, Xenosaga I + II released just one day before Namco and Bandai merged to form Namco Bandai, making it the last real Namco game ever released!

Sakura's first appearance was not in Xenosaga Episode II, but instead in Xenosaga Freaks, which released two months earlier. Even though her house is seen in both games only very briefly, they made sure the Freaks version resembled the Episode II version as much as possible (minus the Bunnie plush).

In XC1DE, they somehow completely missed updating the model for the "Saga" weapon (top) compared to its otherwise-identical-looking brother "Dogma" (bottom). Perhaps they didn't notice because they both kinda suck (only two gem slots) so no one uses them.

The official Xenosaga III forums listed Xenogears under "Other Xenosaga Titles", one of the few (semi-)official instances where a "Xeno" series including Xenogears was acknowledged.

In the Japanese version of XC2, all of Praxis's and Theory's specials have names that are half German and half English, so you get names like "Wolkenbruch Rush", "Frostig Banish" and "Schaumplosion". However, Torrential Pain was likely misunderstood in the European languages.

In XC2, only the player-controlled Driver yells in panic when they fall off the map. This is a cryin' shame because some of their Blades have even better lines left over in the files.

Remember when XC3 first came out (two years ago, making this an anniversary post) and one of Taion's outfits had this rogue vertex stabbing him in the chin? And this is one of his inherited classes, thus making it much more likely to be seen compared to anyone else? Fun times.

The demo for Xenosaga Episode II that came with Xenosaga Freaks contains the opening on Old Miltia. However, in addition to Jin and chaos, Shion and Ziggy are also made playable. ...When Shion would still be a child.

English voices are unavailable, and its option was replaced by a nonfunctional "BDAT"-option. Even when the save file was originally set to English voices, it always loads the Japanese ones.

The European version of Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii still contains the Japanese language data. The console cannot usually be changed to Japanese, so it's only accessible through homebew or emulators. It all the changes from the localization, like the game's logo and release year.

Good materials are more important than raw polygon count when it comes to adding detail. Just two extra images and some additional lines of shader code does just as well as several thousand extra vertices.

We may be just a Xeno account, but Baten Kaitos was the other big series Monolith developed along with Xenosaga back in the GameCube era. Sadly, it never saw much attention, even when compared to Xenosaga, but it's just as excellent. Even now, XC3's DLC is stealing its show.
