The actual best little decision is that you cannot pet the cat

Lots of little decisions in Galactic Racer that I like but one I'm really fond of is the complete lack of fuckass yellow text scrawl. We do not fucking need to keep doing that.

Yeah from my understanding there was a intended backstory episode for the Lion Turtles but it ended up getting cut due to budget-y issues and they reused a lot of it for LoK

I believe, and have experienced, that part of striving to be better means accepting this sort of inherent unfairness, that even if I consider the person who did those things to be a different person than the one I strive to be today, that I must accept responsibility for the consequences regardless.

050 5

Spidermom Xen @xen.arachnid.mom · 05/10/2026

but I also believe that the consequences of those actions are inescapable, that no matter how much effort you put into improving, you must always be ready for the shadow of your actions to continue to impact and disrupt your life, to paint how people see you, and to limit you in many ways.

Spidermom Xen @xen.arachnid.mom · 05/10/2026

I believe that people have the ability to grow and look upon their past self with shame and regret, to honor a promise to never be that person again, and I want to live in a society where people are allowed to grow and change and not be eternally shackled to their past actions,

What I can say is that I hope Jacob graciously leaves his career as an influencer and has the opportunity to continue to grow as a person in a more private career. I hope he does not return to making content online and I hope that he ceases to profit from success based on a lie of omission

120 2

Spidermom Xen @xen.arachnid.mom · 05/10/2026

But how do we reconcile his work with his actions? And more importantly, how do we think about and apply these concepts in society with people who are your coworkers, or your neighbors, or your community members instead of somewhat famous youtubers.

Spidermom Xen @xen.arachnid.mom · 05/10/2026

We as an audience are incapable of judging whether he is earnest in his statement that he has made an effort to change in these past 10 years. Only the people who actually know him are able to make that judgement.

Jacob does not need "Restorative Justice. He suffered a one semester suspension and enjoyed years of success as a minor industry critic and celebrity. At most, he will now suffer real consequences of increased scrutiny and blacklisting from an industry he chose to become a public figure in.

Spidermom Xen @xen.arachnid.mom · 05/10/2026

I think this is a good article, and largely in part because it is barely about Jacob at all, and rather uses the situation and the reaction to it to talk about the wider concepts of "Restorative Justice" and whether we even know what that would look like.

To this day I have never finished XCOM 2

Spidermom Xen @xen.arachnid.mom · 05/10/2026

Ironically I used to have this problem with XCOM 2 and... modding XCOM 2. Literally every time I'd decide to start a campaign I'd get a few hours in before realizing "oh damn I have an idea" and then I'd make like 2 new mods before attempting to play the game again and starting the cycle over

One time I left our emotional support plush at our mother in law's house and she ended up shipping it across the country having cleaned it very well, didn't even know until it got here. Was very emotional over that.

One of the things I'm quite glad I stopped using weed over, the weird time dilation sensation would turn every single second of pause into a perceived awkward silence I would always assume was because I said something stupid

#ControlResonant Spoilers below (content you can see in the first 20 minutes of the game, but difficult to see clearly without photo mode), but I ended up pulling some textures relating to a big part of the Faults for my own purposes and figured I'd share them below for anyone who might want them.
