Wenn es ein gutes Spiel wird, warum nicht? Aber 25k ist arg karg.

Yeah? 11th grade, Gymnasium in Germany. We even had when states entered in a test. And of course the whole difficulty of EU decision making in social studies/Sozialkunde.

Lol. Meanwhile I'm also writing on an assignment for university on "push-button warfare" (almost immediately after WW2 about drones + nuclear weapons soon being abundant) and compare those arguments to the German Drone Debate of the 2010's.

Actually, funnily enough "Big Berlin" only became a thing with the Weimar Republic, before that the Empire tried to keep Berlin small territorially, as it was too left for them.

I mean, that is basically the same in rural Germany too. It's also a good way to threaten your relatives to finally go to the doctor/to the hospital.

Well, so do submarines all the time. The question is: What in particular has changed that doesn't make the answer "improve your ASW/Anti-Drone/Anti-Missile capability".

Yet your China number is also misleading as they are also currently producing multiple new ones. And of course they are more vulnerable, but so were tanks since the invention of the RPG and the Sagger. And yes, the US very much needs 11 carriers. Because only 1/3 are deployed on any given time.

Rethinking Aircraft Carriers... You mean those thinga that China will soon churn out like nobody's business? Like, of course aircraft carriers are vulnerable, they always have been. To act like they are obsolete because of that misses the point as to what we are supposed to use instead.

Well, wether it is from the brief period of Russian rule or not does not really matter for Finnland imho. They are there, they present a weakness, therefore that should be fixed. And it is in Finnish territory, so it should be a Finnish concern first and foremost.

The Finnish argument sounds nonsensical to me tbh. At least if it is accurately retold.

In what sense? Rent controls for example are quite radical, and much like much of MAGA measures hurt more than they actually solve (the solution here is: build, pretty much everything, even luxury houses cause rent for lower-income families to drop). So what does radical mean?

Fedorov coming back is not really possible now that he went public and loud. Otherwise Zelensky would look like the weak man there. For a president, that is not acceptable, as Federov could push anything through that he wanted basically. Basically, the overall political situation is not conducive.

You mean the very thing that is Irish official policy? "You have to defend us but we won't ever help you"? Also lol. Have the last twemty years suddenly not happened? The reason Poland and many other Eastern European nations have actually blackmailed the US to get into NATO is because of Russia.

Nah, as a German, eryctaysom is correct. It's fucking dumb to expect others to save you while spending next to nothing on defense AND not coming to their defense if THEY get attacked. That is abhorrent. Looking at Ireland's GDP/capita, it's the billionaire asking the pauper to defend him.

To fuse with Nexter for political reasons. Now we need to claw back a blocking stake with tax payer money. The lesson from this: Market intervention for political rather than economic reasons can have bad consequences that force you to expend more money than if you hadn't done them.

Company, they would have done an IPO and sold some of their shares. But the problem here is that 50% is owned by France, meaning we also need at least a blocking stake. So they can't just decide to close factories in Germany exclusively, for example. This was caused by our intervention to force ...

xela63.bsky.social @xela63.bsky.social · 11/05/2026
Except no, the point is not that it's the top of the market to sell, the point is KNDS needs to raise more money from share holders via a capital increase, which the families of the German side can't fund, which is why they have to liquidate. This would have been no problem for a wholly private...

xela63.bsky.social @xela63.bsky.social · 11/05/2026
It's just dumb that se forced the fusion in the first place. With just KMW this would not have been a problem. But our (politocal) intervention then caused us to need to intervene now and we need to pay tax payer money fpr something that would have been unnecessary had we stuck with KMW.
010
xela63.bsky.social @xela63.bsky.social · 11/05/2026
000
xela63.bsky.social @xela63.bsky.social · 11/05/2026
Or we could just split KNDS apart again and get back KMW? Because it's stupid to do an IPO if France is not going to equitably also liquidate some of their shares. This is why half state-half private companies are suboptimal. They limit you more and bring you no extra fiscal room.
