After receiving a selection of songs from Yamaoka-san and listening to them for the very first time, it was obvious that the ambient Silent Hill-like track was meant to be used for the game over screen.

I agree. The main theme and in-game music lean more toward Sine Mora, while the game over music is almost like an original Silent Hill ambient track.

Longtime pals Atelier Hongrois (all of whom I worked on Sine Mora with) have put their puzzle game Rotolla out on Playdate! It's pretty much the perfect place for this game, as it's all about rotating pieces! Soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka as well. Give it a look: play.date/games/rotoll...

We had worked with him and Grasshopper Manufacture on Sine Mora before, so we already knew each other. Then, when we were making Rotolla (the original iOS version), we approached him, and to our great delight, he said YES. It's a great honor to have his music in the game!
