it really sucks when it turns itself on in a backpack or something and I go to open it up and it's got like 5% battery or something. Lately it's off-off and unplugged. Idk if it's windows update doing it or what. My linux machines never do that

IMHO too, if as a business, your entire company revolves around one guy being contactable at any point in time, you've failed from a management perspective. Congrats, you've created an extremely high risk situation for the firm. God forbid that guy leaves, company is boned

100% Even from a business perspective, my overall performances is going to be lower if I can never relax, can't concentrate on shit if I don't have some time to rewind the day before. The human brain did not evolve to be able to support being always-on.

Last few months have been extremely high pressure at work. Crazy how much of a toll it took on my mental health and I didn't really even realize it until the pressure started to lift. Been getting home and have like 0 motivation to actually do anything, even join voice calls

There's a place north of Baltimore that I've been to a few times where there's an Amish market, they make some very unique root beer. I think it's good, but a lot of my friends find it's not sweet enough. Definitely worth trying! Not many south of northern Maryland though

Yeah! It can scale quite a bit. I used to have 6 machines, but 4 of them I retired due to either failed hardware or not worth the running costs. Some of them were built in 2007-2008. Most of the original render farm I had was built from machines literally found in trash cans

It largely depends on how many machines I have attached. Before I got any usable GPUs, it'd shrink my render times from a year+ down to 3 months. These days it's more like 3 weeks to 2 weeks (unless I can borrow more compute power). I've got one RTX 3080, and one Xeon(R) CPU E7- 4830 @ 2.13GHz
