if that doesn't count as being in "use", this garden chair has been in my family for three generations now.

folding chair made out of wood, with curved armrests, standing on a patio. it appears greyish and a little weathered (most of which is on me, actually). it has a black fake leather seat cover that i salvaged from an old office chair.

my mom got this around 1950. now it's hanging out with me.

cute stuffed bambi toy. the way they used to do them, stiff, with light brown fur and meticulously painted details like white spots, black hooves and nose. the eyes are black glass beads sitting on top of white leather patches with a brown gradient representing the iris. the deer is about 20cm tall and it is standing on my living room table, curiously looking to the left.

velociraptor from jurassic park (1993) looking through porthole-shaped window in door. with dromaeosaurids now believed to have been relatively high-metabolism animals, it obviously wants in to share some warmth with you. also since they could not actually pronate their wrists, it would really like a little help with that door handle

ginkgo bonsai in central europe went this week, pretty much in line with those in nature (those down at the park).

a bonsai gingko consistimg of a relatively straight trunk of about 30 centimeters,in a white pot, with yellow leaves.

a single yellow gingko leaf on the concrete floor of my terrace.

the levadas were built from the 16th through the 20th century. following the water (roughly) from the cloudy mountains in the northwest to the arable lowlands in the south, you get to see different habitats, long tunnels (just don't be tall), and plenty of waterfalls.

a tunnel entrance with water flowing into it.

one of those waterfalls that seem to go all the way from the peak to the bottom of an island.

the island of madeira is criss-crossed by levadas - historic but functional water supply channels, many of which now double as hiking trails through otherwise inaccessible terrain.
