We've reached Albania! The city of Shkodër is a busy place, older than it looks at first glance: 2,400 years old. It is on Skadra Lake, the largest in the #Balkans. Very friendly people, great food. #RoadTrip #streetphotography

On the plan it is clear that the wall that still remains used to be much longer and was the coal store. Here's a picture of the remaining wall in 2010 when the kids climbed up on it.

In my new 'job' as a Data Doctor on #Wikitree while sourcing orphaned profiles.in Kent, I found this 👇. In 1901, the Kennett family had taken Florence in as a 'nurse child'. By 1911 she had been adopted by them. I couldn't find her birth registration. #genealogy

This is the old plan for our house and garden in November 1984 when it was the Kreiskulturhaus Treptow. The Coach House was used as a music school. More about it in my short video talk at #AATP #Puschkinallee5 #OnePlaceWednesday

OK, this is interesting. I found another conviction in 1917 in Hastings but under the name Harold Arthur Baxter. Definitely my Harold.

No, definitely not him. He married in 1922 and the father is different. And he had over £12,000 when he died.

I'm not sure who is on this photo, passed down from my uncle. Suggestions are that it might be from around 1904 judging by the clothes. It would have been taken at a mixed race girls' school, probably in Simla, India, that also took boys in the infant class. Any ideas? #genealogy #familyphotos
School photo, about 1904, likely Simla, Punjab, India.

Yesterday, I did a search for a family member and British Newspapers turned up a load of articles in The Tatler and The Sketch, with photos of him as a young man with lots of debutantes. He ended up marrying a model who was also featured, so cool.

I had a close encounter of the AI kind this week that made me really annoyed. After spending ages thinking up a prompt that would prevent hallucination, it still just made up a source. When I asked for the link, it admitted that it didn't exist. Read on... #AncestryHour

The Bwye One Name Study is coming along nicely. All the research enabled me to write a story in two parts on my 2x great grandfather Henry Bwye, who was a landscape gardener first at Cyntathfa Castle in Wales, then Ram Bagh in Amritsar, India, and finally at Annandale, Simla, india. #OneNameTuesday

The owner of 'Haus Rüegg' told me that some Rüeggs went to Argentina, maybe in the time that the weaving business collapsed, or because of the failed harvests in the Year without a Summer (1816) when a volcanic eruption in Indonesia blocked out the sun and led to crop failures and starvation. #Ruegg

They have this thing of writing the family names on the beam under the roof, as well as the date of when the house was built. In Tablat I found two such houses, one from 1767 and the other 1819.
