Removing Keir Starmer is a remedy to the condition of having Keir Starmer as leader. Nothing else. It isn’t a diagnosis of what the country has been lacking or a destination it should be reaching. Anyone imagining they could replace the incumbent should have the confidence to express those things now. Make the case for a contest by displaying a credible alternative. Otherwise, the only prize of succession is to become the new face of the same old problem.

Picked up a @grindrod.bsky.social‘s brilliant Tales of the Suburbs at East Bristol Books and reading it on my train home to kind-of-but-not-really suburban Frome. Excited that I have a walk on part in Seena’s chapter (Love and Hate in Surbiton). Thrilled to discover I was apparently arty-seeming 🎨

2. When I See Blue by Lily Bailey Playing catch up now. I was/am looking for a deeper understanding of OCD, and stumbled across this when liking for Bailey’s memoir. I didn’t realise this was a YA book initially and almost gave up on it when that became clear. But I’m glad I kept going.

Yeah, I had this portrait done of my little baby Sukey after she passed. I’m thinking about getting a frame or something to surround her at some point, but haven’t figured out what yet.
