Life has gotten stressful recently, and the only way Jimin knows how to cope is by eating his feelings away. Once he rids himself of everything that has been causing him stress, Jimin only has one thing left to contend with - the unexpected weight gain.
Insecure, he distances himself from his partner's advances under the assumption that he won't be attracted to him when he's like this. Jungkook, however, has no problem with taking the time to show Jimin just how much he loves every part of him.

when i go back to work and people ask me how i spent my birthday, im can’t exactly tell them i was writing jinkook lmao 😭 anyways, been working on part 3 lately! as a treat, here’s a peek at what’s to come 🙂‍↕️🫶

"Hyung, aren't you sad that summer will be over soon?" is just one of the questions Jungkook asks.

A soft laugh escapes Seokjin's lips, and he lightly shakes his head. "Kind of, I suppose," he replies. "I love summer, but there are so many things to love about the other seasons, like the colours of autumn, the winter frost, the blossoms in spring. Yeah, the weather's going to start taking a turn, but I'm alright with that. Besides, next summer will be here before we know it."

Jungkook hums in reaction to everything that Seokjin has to say, then takes a sip of the final remnants of his iced tea. "That's true. I feel like time has been going so fast lately. Do you feel that way?"

"Yeah, I've definitely noticed that," Seokjin chuckles, acting as though a warm blush hasn't crept onto his cheeks. Obviously, there's a very specific reason why time has flown by for him lately, but he can't mention it. Not to Jungkook.

"It's funny, right?" Jungkook asks, eliciting another light nod from Seokjin. "Time has been a blur since I started living with you."

Oh.

Okay.

That's fine.

Seokjin can handle being told that. Definitely.

There's nothing crazy about those words, and they most definitely don't evoke an eruption deep in Seokjin's heart. His face definitely isn't as red as the strawberries he grows in his garden every year, and he definitely isn't feeling hotter than the heatwaves that have been reigning over the valley this summer.
Absolutely not.

As he holds Jungkook close, Seokjin is immediately thrust into the depths of his imagination, where his mind has been living so restlessly over the last few months— imagining every scenario that could branch off from this. He pictures the feeling of waking up like this every single day, rain or shine, hot or cold. He envisions them struggling to separate from each other in order to start the day, much preferring to stay in bed all day. He envisions Jungkook falling straight into his arms and settling there immediately. And whenever they need comfort, he imagines them scenting each other beneath the covers.

Seokjin's hand trails up towards Jungkook's neck, and he unconsciously rubs his thumb over his scent glands. The way Jungkook's scent erupts immediately makes Seokjin weak, but he doesn't quite register exactly what's happening. All he can focus on is the feeling of Jungkook tangled up with his body and how he sighs blissfully into his chest, utterly ardent with all of it.

"Your scent is so nice, hyung," Jungkook mumbles, and that's when Seokjin finally clocks it.

"Fuck," Seokjin gasps as he swiftly pulls his hand away from Jungkook's neck. "Shit, shit-- I'm so fucking sorry, Koo. I didn't mean to scent you, l promise it was an accident, I swear-"

Jungkook merely laughs, much to Seokjin's surprise.

"You're... you're not mad?" Seokjin asks, perplexed.

That's when Jungkook lifts his head to meet Seokjin's gaze, offering a smile so sincere that Seokjin's heart stutters beneath his chest. He feels Jungkook's hand rising up his back until it settles on the nape of his neck, curving around enough to allow his wrist to graze over his scent gland. Jungkook rubs it a little, his eyes starry as Seokjin's coffee scent grows a little deeper, blending in beautifully with the tropical summery fruits of Jungkook.

"How can I be mad?" Jungkook chuckles sweetly in reply, continuing to stroke their scent glands together as the early morning sun begins to filter through the small gap between the curtains. "I like you a lot, hyung."

Seokjin's breath hitches, and while he tries to focus on their individual scents mixing together, he can't help but echo those words in the deepest corners of his mind. Jungkook likes him?

Embers and Constellations.

Every night since his best friend tragically passed away, Jimin visits the campfire site, staring at the flames and sipping on beer he doesn’t like as he tries to process all of his emotions. By chance, two weeks later, he meets Namjoon on the opposite side of the fire, burdened by a deep loss of his own.

Entangled in their grief, they begin meeting each other more often - just to talk, to cry, to lean on one another. Until, eventually, they meet for the sake of being with each other. However, as time passes, they come to learn that love and grief intertwined is more complex than either of them could have anticipated.
