god. the siri recap though. holy shit wow. but less of a privacy thing because i find it hard to believe the llm is going to put verbatim text into any summary it generates, nor will it be able to identify speakers because the audio is explicitly only processed for spoken words and entirely locally

yea i see the vision, but i dont think its the same i think apple put a bunch of extra features to make this thing not much of a privacy concern; a chime you cant disable plays, its never permanently on you have to click a button for it, its 15s long, and saving the transcript is always a choice

well idk it actually is a little hard to be secret when recording with a phone, unlike the perv glasses which you wont even notice unless you know exactly what to look for

i actually would not make the same point for audio recordings. im not talking about audio recordings, and i think this would be an evil feature if it were audio recordings. not to mention machine transcriptions arent admissible in court, while recorded audio Might be if it was obtained legally

its not an audio recording its a transcription. obviously i cannot remember the exact order of every word spoken but i remember the details. a transcription wouldnt give me much (or any) extra insight. if the watch was there to transcribe i was there to hear it. i actually truly do not see the issue

not to mention. like. Every cell phone ever Can secretly and illicitly record you from someones pocket. and im willing to bet in 97% of cases that happens because someone is intending to secretly record someone else.
