The Hornet (599 in US) has a name that goes back to 1998 when it was a 600cc middleweight. It has been revived as a middleweight more recently with a 750cc motor as the CB750 (there's also a 1000cc Hornet). #motosky #motorcycle #bikersky #motorbike #honda #hornet #cb750

I was saying just this 10 years ago. The attitude was generally that British workers could do all the jobs but that immigrants were taking them instead - despite me pointing out that British workers didn't want to and wouldn't do those jobs.

AI slop picture though. There are a couple of pods in Ulm only and they look more like coffins - but there is a lot of additional support from the city.

Personally, no. It's always a pain that there aren't enough hours in the day to finish things off. I've always found the transition between sleep and wake, and wake and sleep difficult.

I would definitely prefer it if men were held accountable for their behaviour.

Who doesn't like a Speed Triple? The Speed Triple R 1050 was one model in a long line of 'hooligan' bikes that rode the popularity wave of naked bikes. #motosky #motorcycle #bikersky #motorbike #triumph #speedtriple #speedtripler1050

Don't be deceived. I've encountered the 'Frank' types and they are not the nicest of people despite how they come across.

Bless him, he's getting old and confused. Think he meant USA - they start with the same letter so easy for him to confuse them.

Would have been good to have some 10cc, Sailor, and Foxx... but I guess there were well over a hundred singles to choose from in 1976.

The volume is too small to make any difference in the US - but it is a way to divert money to Russia, so they can continue the war in Ukraine, which will tie up funds in Europe and affect the economy there.

By the way, this isn't the first time this tanker has transported Russian diesel to the US. There are a lot of ship-to-ship transfers of Russian oil in an attempt to hide the origin.

Obviously, this has been planned to try to bolster his support for the mid-terms and was announced today because the ship is arriving tomorrow so it looks more pro-active and closer to November - also most people don't have a clue about how large something is in comparison to what is usual.

Indeed. It also has still got the kick-start which was removed in 1981. The one I posted doesn't but has a rear drum (like the LTD ones did).

I think that one is a later model (78 on) due to the rear disc brake?

Bill Gate's mother wasn't on the board of IBM, however she was on the board of a bank and also the United Way which is where she encountered John Opel and pushed Bill Gate's company. So still had money and influence.

Since people love classic motorcycles, here's another from the 70's. The Kawasaki Z650 (KZ650 in USA) debuted in 1976 at the London Motorcycle Show. Its engine was based on the Z1's. #motosky #motorcycle #bikersky #motorbike #kawasaki #z650

They use currency. That can be whatever is accepted by whoever is receiving it. I'm sure you're aware that typically it is the coins and bank notes issued by the UK central bank. The bank notes MUST be accepted in payment of a debt in England and Wales, but in Scotland and NI it is only the coins.
000
Laurence Mee (Wyrm) @wyrmuk.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
However, it is the UK's central bank that issues the bank notes that were referenced in the original post. No bank notes are legal tender in Scotland or Northern Ireland. I don't need to do my research as I did that back in 2009 when things changed last.

Indeed - no bank notes are legal tender in Scotland. Even the Scottish ones. 🙂

British (as you well know) refers to the people of the United Kingdom (a country) as a collective. However, Cornwall isn't a country but someone can still describe themselves as Cornish. Your QED was misplaced. Don't be a troll.

The very article you referenced states 'The distinction between legal tender and legal currency is clarified as follows by Wikipedia...' and uses it as their justification. I take it you now consider that the article you referenced is laughable. Seriously - READ things before posting.

There were mixed opinions on both sides and there were a lot of issues with it - such as the number of MPs. However, it wasn't forced on anyone and Scottish people (such as James Douglas) did pass it - though you could accuse them of corruption. Scotland shares the responsibility.

Did you not read my other reply? Looks like you're being deliberately deceptive here. I have been polite, but your attitude is not polite. Typical right-wing attitudes again.

Laurence Mee (Wyrm) @wyrmuk.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Currency can be anything that someone accepts (coins, notes, cows) - there is no 'legal' about it and Wikipedia have since removed the 'legal currency' entries as not being valid and redirected them to 'legal tender'.

There has been legislation since that document was published in 2008 - such as the Banking Act 2009 and associated regulations.

Unification wasn't colonialism - it was a decision by both Scottish and English parliaments.
100
Laurence Mee (Wyrm) @wyrmuk.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
That's a completely different point - and a potentially valid one. It was founded before unification but was privately owned until 1946 so it was the institution's call on its name. Attlee should probably have changed its name at the same time. It could be the Bank of Fred for all I care. 🙂
000
Laurence Mee (Wyrm) @wyrmuk.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
However, it is still the central bank of the UK. That's what matters, not the name of the institution - it could be called the Bank of Fred and still be the central bank of the UK. If you're objecting to the institution's historical name then that's something else unrelated to bank notes.

Your what? Sorry, I'm not on X, didn't see it. Promissory notes aren't 'legal' currency, they are just currency. The phrase 'legal currency' is the same as 'legal tender'. The Scottish/NI notes are authorised by HM Treasury rather than the Law. Happy to help.

Even from 50 years ago! Sounds like a TR6R (also known as the TR6S/R and Tiger from 1969 - naming was a bit of a mess) if it had low-lever exhausts.
