In the first he’s a teen and looks active and happy and is wearing martial-style robes, in the second he’s older, in his yllz era. He wears a long black curved hem robe and grey and red coat with when flame patterns and is covered in talismans- he’s notably gaunt and pale and has red stained fingers. In the third he’s post resurrection mo xuanyu’s body, wearing a grey, black, and red ruqun and carrying a bamboo flute. he’s physically shorter and his facial features and hair texture are different than they were in his old body.

In the last, he is fully grown up, he looks relaxed and his posture and clothing are both worn looser and more comfortably, he wears several layers of white robes with subtle clouds embroidery and a tall xiao-guan. In one hand he holds bichen behind one of his hips. At the top of the page, the sword bichen is drawn both sheathed and unsheathed, it has a light blue beaded tassel hanging from the pommel.

- i sampled a wide range of times from the warring states periods to the tang dynasty - i tried to develop a unique silhouette to make the clans recognizable even in black and white - i tried to emphasize practicality and function in the designs (or a purposeful rejection of it)

lan robes: zhiju or daopao w/ zhaoshan - straight hems only - layered/ loose coats - collar panel in white - straight wide sleeves - thin fabric, many layers - lots of subtle embroidery notes: cloud/ musical motifs, scholarly and airy clothing style, shows a focus on precision/patience

jin robes: yuanlingshan - round collars w/ studded belts - brocaded fabrics - gold and silver thread - narrow skirt cut - less gold fabric= lower rank notes: peony/coin motif, formal robes w/ prominent emblems, robes reminiscent of government officials, ceremonial/ dueling based fighting style
