Ah, the search is working but I see #scifichat is taking a sabbatical this week.

Penric and Desdemona stories by Louis McMaster Bujold. Junkyard Cats stories by Faith Hunter. Those two series come to mind. #scifichat

And now we shall see if, with @davidrozansky.bsky.social here, whether my #scifichat posts show up in the search column.

I think my favorite historical series by an SF writer is Barbara Hambly's Benjamin January series. #SciFiChat

Hello, #SciFiChat ! Our power went out briefly last night, and I had to start the computer up from scratch, but I'm here.

I started rereading The Dresden Files, found there's a new story in the Junkyard Cats series by Faith Hunter, and bought it, just in time to be asked to proofread a friend's story, so those are waiting, for now. #SciFiChat

As much as I enjoy reading/listening to/viewing the results of other people's creativity, I think the most important function of art is that it allows people to develop skills and express themselves. Letting a set of algorithms do the work is like letting a robot do your yoga! #SciFiChat

Hello, #SciFiChat I haven't gone to any of those recombinant algorithmic chat bots either. I'd rather spend time with actual people in a chat (or a sing or even in person).

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Mead Pic of the day #photography

Looking down on the city port Skopelos on the island of Skopelos, Greece.

The white buildings are arranged in an amphitheater way, climbing one of the mountains. The sea is met with a large retaining wall. Lush green forests fill the landscape.

The movie Mama Mia was filmed here so I watched that shit on the flight home. Meh.

Yes, have a good week. Also, I have fixed my #SciFiChat alarm, so it rings a half hour before the chat instead of a half-hour into the chat. I don't know how it got changed, but life and cell phone alarms are like that.

The fey are fantasy. We don't need believable science for this fantasy worldbuilding session, after all. #SciFiChat

There is a theory that the ice ages were triggered by a reaction to unusually warm planetary temps; I didn't go read about it so I don't know if it's a very well supported theory, but perhaps these arctic fey can make it happen, if they have enough human mages working with them? #SciFiChat

What if the resort is a fancy natural childbirth location, with midwives, at least one gynecologist in case things go wrong, and a neonatal ICU? Then the parents would show up at just the right time to give birth and the doctors could switch them during the initial health exam. #Scifichat

Well, hunting for food seems unlikely, since adults have more meat, and "changeling" is a big part of the premise. Why make a changeling to leave with the parents, if humans are just their cattle? #SciFiChat

This #SciFiChat was a lot livelier than recent weeks (I don't count last week, when everything was just too broken to chat). I enjoyed it a lot! @catherinewinters.com I hope you join us more often! And I'm very glad the BlueSky folks got their searches up and working again.

But seriously, if I knew what the next SF or fantasy craze would be ahead of time, I'd be doing my best to write it so my stories would be ready at the right timee to take off. #SciFiChat

My favorite book of the year? I'd have to think about that. #SciFiChat The new Penric and Desdemona books are high contenders, and of course anything by Seanan McGuire is always good. But I know I'm not remembering everything with my still sleep-fogged brain.

My favorite anime series of the ones I tried randomly on Netflix was The Apothecary. But I think my favorite movie was K-Pop Demon Hunter. If I hadn't gotten sick and gotten my asthma badly exacerbated, I'd be singing Golden by now. #SciFiChat

Seeing all of my own posts in the You column is working. #SciFiChat But I can chat with myself in the privacy of my own mind if that's all I can reliably see. @deck.blue what's wrong with your search columns and hashtag use? Can you fix it please?
