Hurricane #Polo over the eastern Pacific has rapidly intensified into a major hurricane over the last 24 hours, with maximum sustained winds of 165 mph. It is expected to remain a major hurricane as it tracks NW offshore of Mexico but will bring rough surf and breezy winds to the coastline. 🌀

Taking a look at the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, it has not been a pleasant summer for the Southern Plains and Rocky Mountains mainly due to record low snowpack and persistent areas of high pressure. As a result, the #drought is accelerating the timing of #fall foliage in the Rockies 🍂☀️
