Growing up there are a few moments in history that have stood out. Obviously the first memorable one for me was 9/11. I was 5 years old in 1st grade in Maryland. I was taken out of school and I watched the events of that day unfold at home. I remember seeing videos of people jumping from the WTC.

My feed on FB has been taken over by conspiracy theories about boxes of ticks. The only positive from this is that tick diseases are being brought to the front of public discussion, so hopefully we can finally get vaccines and treatments for all these tick-borne diseases like Lyme and Alpha Gall.

House Republicans are celebrating that they voted to disenfranchise millions of Americans, mostly married women. If this bill passes the Senate, married women will now have to pay a tax to vote (the cost for a passport).

Just watched the Super Bowl Halftime show and wow, what a great show! I wish I knew more Spanish to understand what was being said, but it was just a fun show that was telling the story of Puerto Rico. How well the show was produced bridged the language barrier. Definitely made me want to dance.
