Speaking of shitty AI decomps. I was excited to see someone had started up a open source version of Tiberian Sun. I thought "great, given that we're not getting a remaster from EA, and OpenRA has basically given up on it..." Only to find the project is fully of AI shitters. Fuck off.

New (old?) Wing Commander is great news, I'm really happy EA discovered it exists again. A little sad it probably means that Tiberian Sun / Red Alert 2 remaster is definitely dead if Jimtern has moved his focus to this- but we kind of already knew that.

In Command at E3 1998: Westwood Studio and Dune 2000's demo booth, as sufficiently grungy as the game's UI itself. One of my favourite remasters in all but name. And very cool to see it presented like this. 💿: PC-X December 1998 (IA)

It's nice to see people enjoying star wars again. Videogames are a big part of why it enjoyed such a revival in the 90s. Having new ones coming out, not expressly tied to any film, being made for the sake of themselves, makes it a lot more fun to keep being a fan.

I would rather the ports didn't exist and the projects that did exist were in the hands of enthusiasts who cared enough to do it the right way. All this decompiling trend has done is damage the scene, drive away genuine work, set back real projects-- while delivering passing novelty to tourists.
