Neil deGrass Tyson: "How sad it must be believing that scientists, historians, scholars, economists, journalists devoted their entire lives to deceiving you, but a reality-TV star proven in court to be a lying felon is your beacon of truth & honesty"

It's been a while since I shared a painted model. Partially because I was busy, and partially because I was stuck on this flag. My inspiration for this @loot-studios.bsky.social model was Camelot 3000 color scheme. It end up looking like a mix of Arthur and Mordred from the comics.

A model representing King Arthur in golden armor, with a blue cape and red streams. Henis running, holding Excalibur raised in one hand in front of him and a lance like pole arm holding a banner with old english motifs on another behind (a serpent like dragon coiling around a red cross on a white field). Arthur is crossing a rock field with rocks protruding from the earth but has a clear path to run.

We did that during Covid and it was a blast. We found different profiles on each member. We had the mayor - village "owner", the tinker, that loved to create the latest recipes, the miner, always looking for diamonds, and the cartographer, looking to map it all.

Loved that one Sonia! For me is miniature painting. I always have something on my desk in the corner. Nothing like having to paint a little buckle in an armor of a knight print that is no bigger than your hand to make you be fully present (mind, body and big magnifying glasses). 😉

Now for something a bit different, some Brazilian folklore creatures. The Cuca (wip) and The Saci - a hag in a crocodile body and a one legged mischievous imp. A version of those entities are recurrent characters in a series of book and TV episodes from Brazil - Sitio do Pica Pau Amarelo.

Minis of a human-like crocodile hag (Cuca) preparing a magic potion in a cauldron and a one-legged dark skinned imp (Saci) riding a dust devil.

I would that might be the only author where adaptations are constantly good because the source material is amazing! Btw, I watched Salem's Lot on my last trip and it was quite good! But the book was (and is always) better... 😉

On S3E4 (savouring it even though I wwnt to finish it) and I agree! They really found their pace! And I would argue that the deviation feom the books made the story a bit more contemporary in places, but easier to follow!

But now I got really worried... Isn't that one of the seven seals? "And behold, the First Seal was opened, and from it came a voice like thunder, saying, “Gail got gailed!” And the people marveled, for they knew not whether it was a blessing or a curse."
