My variant cover for ACTION COMICS #1100!!! This is one of my all time favorite covers. I made it quite a while ago, not sure when it was coming out. I was thrilled and honored when I learned it was going to be released on this landmark issue of Action Comics! Whooo! #DCComics

Lois Lane leaning on her desk, coffee in hand, papers flying about while she stands un-phased in the choas.

I love them SO much and I am so proud of what I was able to do but they were physically and mentally draining to create. From concepts to styling to drawing and coloring them, it was a lot – but very much worth it!

W. Scott Forbes @wscottforbes.com · 18/02/2026

Thank you! I am not but I also view those differently than the comic renditions (though I did forget about them, haha)

She is certainly someone I have been begging to draw more! I've only drawn Ivy once professionally... then some fanart from 2017 and a small sketch for the Color Wheel trend..

The Matrix one is incredible but they really all are fantastic. Do you use gouache with an airbrush? Your gradients are so soft and clean.

Thank you!! Yeah, they are Russian Blues, so they have very unique facial proportions. They were the hardest part of the piece. Plenty of life drawing along with photo references to get it right.

110

W. Scott Forbes @wscottforbes.com · 23/01/2026

They are really difficult, the best tip I can give is to push the proportions slightly, exaggeration sells their form. And I actually do have two I used for reference (my cat and my brothers) they are often laying down on or next to me while I draw.

Another month, another Catwoman cover! Couldn't be happier with how this one turned out. Out in April 2026!
